missing flashlight

Saturday night as hung out at the milk bus, I got out a handy little flashlight. And somehow I've mis-placed it. If it ended up in anyone's boat or someone saw it laying on the ground I'd really offer much thanks, and maybe even a reward. It was no ordinary flashlight.

It was an Insight Technologies M-5 tactical flashlight designed to mount under the barrel of my Smith & Wesson SW99 .45 cal. About a $125 flashlight. If you found it and feel like keeping it, I'll sell you a case of Li-ion batteries for it that I have on hand. Then shoot you. :) Just kidding.

It was sitting in the cup holder of my canvas chair. We packed up in such a hurry (I still don't know why there was a feeling of urgency) it could be anywhere. One thing I know, it's not in my boat or any of my bags. If it is gone it's gone. Easily replaceable. No worries. I love ebay!

Hey we know it not still at the milk bus because we went there Sunday morning to look for Basket's glasses which he has also misplaced. They were on his boat when he helped a fellow airboater get unstck and they were blown off.

Additions to the "Lost List". Janet is missing her favorite big silver dipping spoon and Aaron Jackson lost his Nextel either at the Bus or Catfish Pond.

Mood, guess I am responsible for you two leaving the Bus. Adam and I did not want the two of you stuck out there with no ability to get your boat moving. Sometimes I guess I am too much of a Big Daddy.

Big Daddy,

I think everyone appreciated your major contributions to the event. I know I did. You are a good cook, and I enjoyed meeting you. If you need help with the quiet airboat project, or anything else, please let me know.

I'll never balk about an act of kindness. And riding back in that black black night it was a comfort to have an escort of sorts. No complaints there. But one thing I've learned about airboating so far is to err on the side of caution. The reason we did not ride the marsh is because of that caution. Better safe than sorry. (and we are learning from our own experience and Faron's obstacle race experience when the bottom of the lake wanted to have his boat... sometimes being safe means to floor it and not look back!!!!!)

Our boat was parked in such a way as to not be stuck (for once!) :) and we had come and gone from that beaching point several times. We were considering staying the night because it was just so darn pleasant out there!!!! I've heard that Lake Kissimmee has a temper. Well, it was on it's best behavior that night! :)

No worries about the flashlight. I'm just interested if someone picked it up not knowing who it belonged to. If its lost to the mud - I'm happy about that. It's just an earthly possesion anyway.

this is what it looks like though if anyone picked it up:

Dave, I have Janet's spoon as well as 3 more spoons from someone else. Don't know who put it in my stuff but they were wrapped in a plastic bag. I think the other 3 belong to the lobbyist, Bonnie.

Adam

Janet's spoon was pretty thick aluminum with a black handle. We are also missing the bamboo and stainless mesh fry strainer that Dalan was using to cook the gator nuggets.

Hmmmmmm lets see your not in the military anymore and my best bet would be that light doubles as a one-eyed bulldog if you get my drift. J/K Hope you find it.
P.S. It can't be in my boat Because it never left Palm Beach County I will forever kick myself for missing this ride. :x

Last Saturday was a landmark day for airboaters everywhere in Florida.

We elected a strong and motivated leadership team to head FAA for the next several years. We got the endorsement of FFWCC for the Quiet Airboat Competitions. We had the strongest turnout of FAA members and delegates ever. We signed a contract for strong professional legislative representation for airboaters and paid for it with volunteer contributions.

We had a terrific turnout at the Southernairboat.com monthly run without any injury, incident or infraction. We ate great. We made new friends and improved on existing friendships. We enjoyed a truly spectacular airboat ride through a marsh the KRVSA fought a tough battle and won to open for all of us. Dozens have been arrested for just being at the Catfish Pond in the past.

We got to see the best map of the Kissimmee Marsh ever constructed. We met a legend - the Ghost of Gardners Marsh - even though he never sang his song for us.

I am grateful to have been there and done that. Thanks to each and every one of you for making last Saturday what it became.

I told Basket that he need to move so I wouldn't BLAST him, but he said

"It's alright go ahead It won't hurt a thing"......OK

Sorry about the glasses Basket!!!!!

A1mudpuppy,

Like Mood said "just a material posession"! Don't worry bout' that.
I think I'll step-up to the plate to be the new chief of Southern Airboat's "lost & found" department! (I'm always losing something). Mood, you had your flashlight while we found my rainjacket that had launched. Or...your flaslight ate my glasses!!!
