Missing my dog Lucky

Yesterday was a tough day , I had to put down my pointer Lucky .
Its hard to accept the loss of such a noble creature god gave me and having to look into her eyes for the last time in the vets office is something I'll never forget.
I only wish I had more time with her but myselfishness was no reason to prolong her suffering .
Those who've never had a good dog , may not understand how attached we become to our four legged family members.

My dearest Lucky :angel7: you'll be missed .

I am right there with you. Our pup, Jack, passed away on Thursday unexpectedly. We only had him 4 months but we were very attached to him for sure.

man sorry t hear what happened just remember god does everything for a reason just no that she is in a better place. :(

robert,

Know exactly what you mean man. One week ago Monday, I had to put down our 16 year old pit/lab mix Nemo. That dog saved MsWizard from rattlesnake bites twice, identified a petifile for us, guarded our house and home for 16 long years, and was my childrens pet for that long.

Something bout a good dog people just can't replace.

Comes a time where a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do! (Even though it might not seem right at the time).

Robert and Dakota....heartfelt condolences....used to raise white pointers....quail hunting was simply my way to share life with a stiff white dog...just remember how much richer both of your lives are for them being a part....and, wish them warm sunshine and green fields forever. I now Thank God for Abbie......

Robert 4570,

I know you are a GOOD man, by your post. "Lucky" was fortunate to have you as her owner. There comes a time when we are "helpless" not only where are animal friends are concerned, but also the human species.

The saying, "the more people I know, the better I love my dog, is SO TRUE!

I lost one of the loves of my life, my grandmother bulldog "Maxine" to a 6ft rattler, that was lean and ugly. The rattler also bit Jake, a big 90lb+ male bulldog that was in a chain linked run. The rattler bit "Max" twice in the chest before she died at the ripe old age of 16 years. Jake, almost died, several thousand dollars later he now is able to "Bark" about it. The snake killed her and she killed the snake. Previously, she had taken two moccasin bites to the nose, and lived. She raised my three boys right, covering all the areas I missed as a mom. Maxine is buried in my front yard in a blanket she dearly loved. I cry regularly just thinking on it.

God help me, when I die, I want to go where all good dogs go when they die. My current confidant is a blue-brindle bulldog named "Shady". When she goes, I want to go too.

I want to sincerely thank you all for the kind words and support .
We've got a good bunch of people here .

Thanks again

Robert
