0540 sitting about 1 bubble lower in the rear, still porpoising, but doesnt move on dry ground, whats the verdict, thanks in advance for all the replys

u need to fix the bottom of the boat. that is y it won't run dry and it porpoise

your prop needs to be 90 degrees with the ground, so level with the bottom of the boat, then raise prop in 1/4 incriments. level or 1/4 high should be where it will run best. how far is the prop from the transom? may also need to move rigging. as already stated , how is the boat bottom? could be another area that needs to be addressed

bottom has some dents, and no slick bottom left, bare alumn. Prop about 4 or so inches from transome, deck over hull.

then you need to level your motor, run it to see how it does, then go from there. a full bubble prop low is a lot. no wonder it won't move.

call me maybe u can come over this sunday and we can level the motor and try my prop on your boat

with the middle of the hull pushed in most of the way down the boat it will cause it to act like a suction cup when it is on the ground. U want the bottom to be as flat as possible. the more bottom you have the more the weight in distributed over the total area.

Not challenging your knowledge on boats or any thing ,but I am a firm believer that the less you put on the ground the better .Its sorta the less friction the better see to me the snow shoe effect works better on a soft surface with where to you need weight distribution to where a harder surface you have more friction and more capable of drag so the less contact the better . That being said I would have a little crown in a boat to make less drag.Just my thought hell could be wrong but remember I am not calling you out on this :D

true that can work ,but if u take a big block Chevy motor and try and drag it on the ground with the motor sitting on a 2x4 and then drag in sitting on 4x8 sheet of plywood . guarantee u can move the plywood easier than the 2x4. less weight in one spot.

do I get to put wheels on the 2x4? Yeah I can see that point as well .Thats just how I have always set up my rides and have never had a problem so it sorta works for me .I do think you can put too much running surface to where it hurts more than helps. Heat kills a bottom

no wheel that would be cheating :D . I had a 11' baby gore with a 125 on it and that is how it was set up with a crown in the bottom . I have used it before it work u are right but it wears that spot out fast.

Yes it does it will wear on a spot faster than others thats for dang sure you just got to find that happy medium
