Motor prep for saltwater?

I have an airboat with a LS. I am looking to spend time in salt water. My rigging is SS.

What type of proactive measures should I take to prep the engine and rigging and maintain after trips to prevent corrosion?

Wash it down good each time you get it home. I know boats with stainless rigging that are over 40years old. The hull will give up the ghost before your rigging does

Paint on the engine is what I would spray initially. If you don't have one yet, add a couple oil leaks and you'll be good :D.

Is it an aluminum or cast iron block? Spray the whole thing down with thinned out (mineral spirits) motor oil from a bug sprayer will sure keep an iron block in good shape!

Assuming you are running marine rated electronics, freshwater wash everything should be fine, spray down with WD40 if it really bothers you. Make sure to use dielectric grease liberally on all the high voltage stuff.

I pressure wash mine and some kind of corrosion resistant spray in you have it.

My rigging is mill finish not polished 304 ss. not real in 10 yrs or better

from September - May my boat in the salt-water a good bit.
