as a reference i thought it might be nice to see what other people found to work best.
For me on my 540, with a 5 blade warp drive, 9 degrees was good, going to a 6 blade set at 7 was even better. lot better hole shot..

I run a 76" WhirlWind 2 blade on my 0540 (260HP). I have tried from 2200 all the way to 3100. The magic number for my rig is 2750. There is a noticable differance at that RPM compaired to the rest. Not sure about the pitch, I'll check it tomorrow and edit. This was done on green St. Augustine (Sticky).

Here's my results with an angle valve 170 (4 cylinder Lycoming O-320 w/O-480 jugs) on a 12" Hamant hull.

My normal prop is a 2 blade (narrow) 72" Sensenich composite set almost on the second mark and turns about 2850 rpm's. It performs really good.

Right now I'm running a 5 blade Warp Drive (68" I think) which is mine and a buddy's mutual spare prop. Not sure of the pitch degrees, but he turned it around 3000 w/his 180 hp Lycoming and I'm turning it about 2900.

End result: I'm happy with either. They both push about the same on the hill and they both seem to have about the same speed on the top end.

Used to run a 13' 1988 Airgator with 0-540 parallel (250 hp rated engine) with a 3 blade narrow 72" Sensenich set at about 2 and a half marks. It would max out at 2400 RPMs, but cruise at 1400 with about under 400 pounds total weight of crew and gear. Saved fuel, make it alittle more quiet, and for what I did most of the time, it ran fine. However, it would not run the hill, but we don't have any over here. LOL

Running a riveted 13' Palm Beach with a 0-540 angle valve with two bladed 72" Power Shift. Turns up 2750+ with it set on the back edge of the mark. That boat will take me more places than I need to take a boat.

Will try to remember to check the angle tomorrow.

A friend of mine has a 13' fiberglass (moccasin?) hull with a 0-540 (angle) with a 3 blade narrow 72" Sensenich set at on the second mark. Turns about 2800-2850 and runs greats.

Have never got a chance to play with those warp drives. A few guys I know in Louisiana love them for running the marsh grass. The only guy I know here in Texas that used one (8 blades or more) on a 0-540 has placed it on the wall for reminder of bad buys. I keep telling him I want to steal it and try it.

You guys running those Warp drives keep posting what degree set up ya'll use.

I run a 350 with a 2.12 to 1 rotator and a 6 blade turbo warp drive front blades are 10 degrees the rear blades are at 12 degrees turning 4600 rpm. this new design prop is quite all I hear is the engine. :D

I have a 12' Navigator hull with a O470GPU and run 9 degrees with my
4 blade warpdrive. Takes me places I shouldn't go......... also runs at 2700 rpms.

I run a parallel valve 0-540 on a 13'6" Gilileo / Phillips fiberglass hull. Single front operator & dual rear seating. I'm 250# and usually have 300# plus riding with me. Run a 72" Florida Airboat Propellers "Terminator" wide blade composite. Reset it to 13 degrees, max. RPM 2750 as set by Jurnigan after new slick bottom. Runs dry ground effortlessly and has tremendous push.

My son runs a 13'6" Cottonmouth with a Continental 0-470 / E-225. The engine has a splined crank that requires a wide hub hole. He selected a 72" Whirlwind with Stump Puller blades and he, too, runs dry ground way too easily at 2750 RPM.
