Movies Starring Airboats.

What movies can you think of with good footage of airboats?

One of my all time favorites is "Invasion USA" starring Chuck Norris.

GREAT 80's action flick with some really nice looking aircraft-powered deck overs in the first few scenes.

Anybody else?

One of the Police Academies had a chase scene with some Thurman Hulls in it. I think it was police academe three. There is another old old movie called running scared not the movie with Billy Crystal. This whole movie was based in the Florida everglades and full of airboat scenes.

"Water Boy" had a pink airboat in it. GTO also had a video called "Swampin Stompin Airboats" . I almost wore that one out till I let someone borrow it and never got it back. "Sweet Home Alabama" was filmed near me---they had an airboat standing by with a safety/rescue crew ---I guess for the float plane part. Actually, all movies should have airboats.

Swamp Thing (1981) had some good footage with some straight valve 540's on Taylor hulls I believe.

At the end of Police Academy 5- Miami Beach , there was a chase scene with some fulldecks, with 4 cylinder lycomings I think.

There is a comedy staring Danny Glover and Joe Peshi and willie Nelson called "Gone Fishen" that has lots of great Airboat footage and other one I know about is a action thriller called "Chain Reaction" with morgan Freeman and Keono Reeves and it has a great chase sceen with a Fire Dept Search and Rescue Airboat on a frozen lake.

Thanks gang, I'll try to locate those titles at the local video store. If not, I found all of them on eBay!

Harvey, you're right. All movies have cars in them, why not airboats? 8)

The flick you're talking about apparently stars Ken Wahl and Judge Reinhold (Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Beverly Hills Cop)

I found this page about "Gone Fishin"

I got the "Running Scared" movie off eBay and matched it today. Boy it is a cheesy flick! LOL

But the airboat footage is pretty good. Nice looking boats (I guess they are what is referred to as Miami style). In one scene, they jump over some kind of gas pipeline.

Real cheesy, but hey, it was made in 1980. 8)

Holly smokes do you guy’s know how to use your resources. I remember that movie when I was a young teenager all I remember from it where some airboat scenes. I have always wanted to see it again. I’m sure it will seam very cheeses to me as an adult. Kind of like watching Lone Wolf Mcquad cool movie in the early 80s but cheesy now. Where did you find running scared I would like to get a copy. I’m sure you all have seen Wild Things it’s based in the Miami glades area it has some airboat footage it’s O.K. if you don’t mind a few lesbian scenes with two beautiful girls. It’s actually a good movie with a decent murder plot.

in "soggy bottom usa" they invent the airboat, have a coon hunt and make moonshine, great movie

Well now don't tell me you guys don't remember the movie "Gentel Ben" with Dennis Weaver 1967???? And "The Forgotten Wilderness" with Marlin Perkins.Remember Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom??? And you guys are old enough to run an airboat!!! If you don't remember, just ask Paul Dixon about The Forgotten Wilderness. It was his boat used in the movie.Yeah we all know he's old enough to remember!!

Just saw a greatest airboat film I ever saw just a few minutes ago.

Operation Deer Save.
1966 Footage of the Palm Beach County Airboat and Halftrack Clubs efforts to save the deer herds from the flooded glades.
Film was produce for and by the Palm Beach Club.

The film was lost, and recovered.
I reckon some of y'all may have seen it.

I gotta make some copies of it.

I'll send ya one Rick.

It's awesome.

Whatta SCORE.

Yep Paul Dixon's boat was in the movie Forgotten Wilderness.Does anybody remember the guy that worked for Marlin Perkins that always went barefooted, rolled up pants legs and sleeves???? He is the one that Paul had to teach to run the boat.Paul wants to know who the "guest"is that remembered his boat was in the movie,he said you have to be as old as his old butt.!!
