Moving engine stand back

On my palm beach hull (12' x 7')....my prop sticks out the back of the boat about half an inch. I just discovered this and wondering if I measured straight down from the prop plate, how many inches should I be away from the back of the boat? Thanks for the help

That does seem a little different. Is it a covered back deck hull? Being a palm beach hull I am assuming so, but just want to make sure.

None of the Palm Beach hulls I know of around here are set up that way. Most are about 2 to 4 inches or so from the back of the hull. I don't know if that distance is a problem.

The main concern I would have is the clearance between the propeller and the rudders. That is about 2 inches minimum.

And the distance between the propeller tips and cage or deck is the other concern. Closer than 2 inches on the cage is getting close. The boat I run has just slightly more than 1 inch clearance between the deck and the prop tip. I wish there was another inch clearance.

If those distances are ok, then I don't know a problem.

Anybody else know of any issues with this set up?

It is a 3/4 deck hull. And my old cage was over built for it and actually stuck out about 4 inches past the back of the boat. I am in the process of building a new cage, and discovered my prop was alittle past the back of the boat. Clearance isnt a problem....just thought it looked like it needed to be moved up alittle. Maybe an inch or two. Thanks for the reply

hamant air boats told me about a beer can with from the transom and no lower than about 4 to 5 in max inside the hull average is about 2 in just enough to blow the water out but sence you have a 3/4 deck don't have the answer but can find out this weekend.
