My boat

I should be getting my block and heads back from the machinist's this week. Can't wait to put the crank and pistons in it and start grinding for clearance!

I still need an adapter and a prop (looking for about a 72 LXL 34or 5 blade Warp Drive)

Can anyone help me out?

red if you can I hate to say it but go with the warp drive it will give you more get up and go. maybe go stackled if you can it will be easier on our ears.

What engine do you have? I might be able to find you a good deal on a prop.
I know a guy with a 5 blade warp that he wants to sell. I will get all the specs Monday or Tuesday.

I have a 383

It should have about 225 HP @ 3000 RPM

A 68 or 70" 5 blade Warp ought to work fine

Hey Red, I've got a 5 blade 70inch warp for sale, Great shape, $1100.00, if your interested pm me. I'm in Inverness.

HIGH NICKEL BLOCK, RIGHT ON! So I was thinking on another thread is you thinking 383 DD?

Hey good eye!

I lucked out, I have several of them (got some junk too, LOL)

Yep, DD 383. Never seen another direct 383, so I don't have much to go on. I have pretty much resolved myself to the fact that I need an adjustable prop

My combo is as follows:

Vortec heads, surfaced and valve guides cut/springs replaced for higher lift

Eagle rotating assembly with D-dished KB pistons

Comp Cams XE262H

1.5 aluminum roller rockers

Edelbrock Performer RPM Vortec

Edelbrock carb (have both 500 and 750 CFM, we'll see which it likes better)

Moroso aluminum short water pump (more freedom mounting the driver seat)

Whole slew of other crap that doesn't really matter, but should look nice

Red - What brand is that prop and what size? Just curious.

Whatever it is, I don't think you will be disappointed. They all are a step or two better than wooden ones.

I'm kind of in the same position. I know I want more but I can build this first one for cheap. Get on the water. So same thing, prop is my biggest expence. Don't know where to start so need adjustable pitch. I bet a guy could make a ton of money if you could build an affordable prop that worked great where you could adjust pitch on the go! And/or variable transmissions like snowmobiles so punch the throttle and the engine goes to 5500 RPM at 1500 RPM prop and ends up going 1/1 or they actually have the ability to go overdrive(probably wouldn't need quite that much range). I came into some belts that I sold on e-bay for our Pizza fund at work and I did some research on these things and they claim they can handle 400HP! So I need to find a prop with adjustable pitch that I can perhaps use for both projects. If I can figure out with the adjustable how much pitch works the way I like it with the length, then If I wanted to keep the little boat running I would have a pretty good guideline for ordering a wood, or whatever fixed pitch for it and moving the other prop to the next project, Even if I had to buy a hub and another blade or two. When I reach the point of buying a prop, I know it's going to be in the water soon. Merry Christmas

68" Warp Drive, 5 blade

Got a fairly good deal on it and it's in decent shape (only a few nicks)

I'll put it back together today and get another photo (try to make it better than that one)

BTW, what does Warp charge to redo the blades? And do they put a new nickel edge on it when they do?

I can't tell you for sure but I run a six blade Ivo ( which will be for sale soon) and they sell replacement leading edge tape for under $20. I would imagine Warp drive does too.

Tape? Warp Drive uses a nickel leading edge...

Here it is put together
