Whoa Slidin gator!! I wasn’t “bashing” anyone. I simply read their warranty and the limitations they placed on it. When I saw what they said I then exempted myself due to the fact that my circumstances were beyond their limitations. Don’t hold it against me for being honest.

Btw slidin gator I will take your advice on having them repair the unit. I was very impressed with its capabilities.

TC,

I owe you an apology, I read your Baptized post as 12 inches, vs. 12 feet. Yah, that is a good bit deeper than the warranty terms... :fishing

We use a lot of their gear for dog tracking and training. It holds up well to our abuse, but things wear out. When you call you get a real person, in America that actually does help resolve issue(s).

In the mid 90's I bought a handheld GPS from them. 3 years later I left it out on the boat in a rain storm. Later I noticed the screen was fogged and it wouldn't work. Since it was out of warranty, I pried apart the plastic housing to dry it out, still no luck. I called them, the rep said they are not supposed to leak, send it back. I said it's 2 years out of warranty, he said send it back. I said I busted it open, he said send it back.

So I sent it back and they sent me a new one, no questions asked. Their policies are not so liberal now, but they earned a loyal customer. Let us know how the replacement works out. Maybe a waterproof bag or a separate boat for learners?
