Nebraska Trip part 1

Tim Bryson

Well-known member
I got some wise words from a guy this morning that has been in airboatting for nearly 40 years. I think he put it simply just let it go and have fun. We all have a passion for airboatting.

So if anybody ever wants to come to Nebraska and do some airboatting you just let me know. I know every Airboater in Nebraskas could find a spare room and place to park your boat if you would every want to come up. It does not mater if you own a DB, PANTHER, or any other boat built out there. We all share the same passion.

Thanks Tim

Might take you up on that some day.

Your welcome anytime. Our home is located on the Platte River. I also several acres of river front up stream so bring lots of friends and boats.

tim how about a monthly run like in august 06 it would give us plenty of time to get up there and its hot as hell in Florida then just an idea

You guys just name the date in August and, I can work with the Nebraska Airboat ASS. we will show you the hospitality of the Nebraska people. We have great drag strip water, doing cookies with boats in inches of water, just the right conditions for everything.

The Platte River has very few things to hit and usually if there is an old bridge pilong it is usually marked but those are far and few between in our area.

If any one has any questions about this area feel free to ask me any questions.

We would love to have you all up here. August is a great time a year not to hot and not cold at all just perfect.

That'd be a fun trip. I could stop and visit relatives in Kansas City, Kansas.

Boating sounds like a BLAST and according to the photos I've seen, it looks beautiful up there.

But most of all.... it'd get us the heck out of the state during Hurricane season. Andrew hit in an August. And last August/Sept my electric was out for 21 out of 30 days!!!

August is a good time to get out!

Let's get this one thought out. How far is it? 1400 miles or so? Maybe we can chip in together rent a C5Galaxy and fly our boats up there!

matt.

I just left a message with the secretary of our Nebraska Airboat Ass.

I would like to see the Airboat World Magazine do just a small story about this web site southern airboat.com.

I did not know about this web site till several of my fellow airboater were calling me from different states that know ,that I own the Panter Tour boat with the 572 counter rotar. I got about 4 calls in a matter of hours telling me I need to go to this web site. Because they are talking about my boat and running the hill.

I think everybody in the Airboating community needs to know about this site.

Somebody pass the word to Airboat World Magazine about this.

As far as Nebraska goes for Airboating, we have a few of Manufactures of Airboats up her that usually have most parts on hand for any service that would need to be done on the river in the time of need.

So lets all communicate with our Ass.'s and set a time in Aug for a Nebraska National Airboat Rodeo and then start of trend of every year or every other year and have it in another State.

Just a thought and way to get more airboaters together.

Thanks Jim, I own a couple of Business and believe you need to do things on a National Level to get the word out.

That magazine for us Airboaters, is our backbone for knowledge in other areas of the world.

Anybody else that thinks it should be in the Airboat world magazine should voice there thoughts towards them.

We have woodpeckers in Ne, just not sure about that specific kind of bird, I am not much of a bird man, but I could look into it.

Tim,

Are there bullfrogs in Nebraska? Can we hunt 'em?

I was hoping our first interstate meet would be on Lake Seminole in GA with Sniper and the Dixons. Oh well, it's just a little bit farther to Nebraska.

Are we there yet, Daddy?

We do have bull frogs just not as many as Florida.

When the lights go down we run set lines fishing for Big Catfish at night.

Big Daddy when I got these monthly runs going I knew most of the runs would be here in FL but it would also give us the opportunity to visit some of these other great states NE,TX,LA, and of course Sniper / Dixons private river in GA . I say if we pick a date now it will give us plenty of time to plan a summer vacation to the great white north we can still have a run here for the people who cannot make this trip but I like opportunities in life and this sounds like one! how about the last weekend in August !!

Not to knock you guys but school starts here around the 2nd week of August so I know for me I would love to go but I am a school teacher and I would not be able to go because I would have to be to work on Monday. So we need to think about that. cchardt could come because of vacation time but my vacation time is all summer long.

Let me introduce you to the comcept of calling in sick, and substitute teachers.

:D

just kidding. Sort of. ;)

Laura just flew to California for only $250 because she searched/waited for a great deal, and bought the ticket months in advance. Where there's a will, there's a way.
