NEED A BOAT RAISED AT ORANGE LAKE - WHO CAN HELP?

Just got a call: One of our members, who is new to airboating, was out on Orange Lake with his wife and one other passenger yesterday afternoon, and got stuck on one of those notorious floating islands. While trying to get free, the boat sunk in 12 feet of water, and the three of them swam for an hour and a half until they were finally pulled out of the water by another airboat. Now he needs help getting his boat up and out of Orange Lake. Bob (swampjet) is home with a serious back injury, and can't help out this time. Is there anybody on this forum who can help? If so, please call us at home and we'll put you in touch with Victor. The boat is cage-down, with the bow sticking up out of the water.

Update: There are now 5 airboats from Sportsmen's Cove out looking for the sunken airboat. Seems the bow is no longer sticking up out of the water...

Always hang a fishing float or some type of location marker on a sunk boat. Learned this the hard way. Drove over the seat of one with a jonboat. Found the seat handles with the aluminum prop and I was sure we were about 100 feet from the boat. opps.

Update: The airboat was found and rescued late yesterday afternoon. Victor now just has to get all the water out of the motor. Said it looked like a "swamp thing" with all the stuff hanging off it. And they are calling themselves the Orange Lake Swim Team.

I love a happy ending! Thanks to everybody involved!
