NEED A CARB EDELBROCK OR WHO REBILDS THEM

got 2 of them new condition one is strickly for marine aplication the yboth ran a strong 383 stroker pm me
 
DAN JAMES NEEDS ONE SET UP FOR A DD 500 CADDY. THE MOTOR IS STOCK EXCEPT FOR THE AIRBOAT CAM WE ARE INSTALLING.IT IS A 1970 400HP 550 FPT IT IS A 10:1 MOTOR CAN YOUR BROTHER SET IT UP? THE GUY FROM THE CAD COMPANY TO HIM THE CAM WOULD NOT WORK IF HE DIDN'T USE A QUDERJET , WITCH I KNOW IS BS BECAUSE THE MOTOR DON'T KNOW WHAT CARB IS ON IT.
 
I also have a predator carb i'm not using. I'll call Potter and see what i need to do to it? Haven't played with a Cad yet. I'm working it palm bay for a while for a while so maybe we can meat up if it works out.
 
woody - you fellas need to steer clear of "CAD COMPANY".

call potter if'n you need more caddy parts. if he don't have what you need he will point you in the right direction.
 
I NO POTTER IS WELL KNOWN AND I PERSONALY NO PEOPLE WHO HAD USED PARTS FROM THE CAD COMPANY AND NEVER HAD NO TROUBLE

Where are you getting 400 hp with a stock cadillac !It s 325 hp ! if your lucky !They change the hp rating system in 72 !Most of us steer clear of the Cad company for performace reasons !

Most of the guys on this board who have caddy`s know the real deal James,they are just trying to help.If you knew as much as you think you would not be asking for help.

there are a only a few, 2-3 companies to get performance caddy parts from and cad co. isnt one of them.
potter is at the top of the list and he is here on the board helping us out.

my experience with cad co. ( chris was my contact there btw.) was a very bad one and while i did eventually get my parts after 5-6 months late, when on the day i ordered my stuff i was told by chris it would be shipped out the very next week. then when i called back it would be next week again, then next week again and so on and so on it went for months. and my initial order was just under $2,000.

ask felber how my oil pan fit.
ask felber how my oil pick-up fit.
ask felber how my valve covers fit.

so i was repeatedly lied to, and in the end my parts didn't even fit with out some serious grinding and bending.

and like i said before if potter doesnt have what you need he'll go out of his way to find it for you- and just as luck would have it before i spent a dime with him, but after i got screwed with cad co.........then found better people to deal with, i did in fact ask him for a good quadrajet, which he didn't have at the time, he made some phone calls on my behalf and another one his customers shipped me a carb, he took time out for me which he made no financial gain from and at that time i had not spent a dime with him.

i believe someone tried to direct you to another board, if you follow that i'm sure you can find someone over there that has a decent ( used ) quad to sell you. probably fairly cheap as well, i think the last one i got was $30 if i remember correctly.

make sure if you already have a quad it actually came off of a caddy, if not, don't try to use it, it wont even be close to running right- ask me how i know, after i spent many many hours messing with one!

hey thanks i have some qjets but im probley not going to use them im going with a holly or edelbrock ive always used qjets and liked them but every one has a different way of doing things ive also heard alot about potter and potter jr good and bad i never judge a man by his knoldge or welf but thnaks for the info i see that alot of u caddie guys run qjets i should but dan the carb man says he can get this holly rebuilt and tuned to my motor so were going to see what happens alot of these guys on here are just trying to help like you. but u have some that think that their no it all's i see where people says u cant do that and in another form they tell some one elce ol yea u can do that they counterdick them selves thats t rex for the info

I have a 700CFM dp on mine and the plugs are perfect the ground strap is colored half way down and the idle circuit is clean. It only Took one trip up river and I only had to change the jet's once to get there. I can let the boat sit for three weeks and I just turn the key and it immediately starts and idles I don't even have to touch the gas pedal.
