HEY GUYS NEED A LIL HELP .. MY IO-470 WAS CONVERTED FROM FI TO CARB , AND IT HAS TWO 90 DEGREE ELBOWS THAT COME INTO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD... THE TWO THAT ON THERE ARE DENTED UP AND I WANT TO REPLACE THEM BEFORE I MOUNT THE MOTOR, IVE WALKED THRU HELL ON SUNDAY LOOKING FOR THESE ELBOWS AND CANT FIND THEM OR A ALUMINUM SHOP TO MAKE THEM.. I BOUGHT ANOTHER COMPLETE INTAKE SYSTEM FROM ANOTHER IO-470 BUT THERE NOT A 90 DEGREE BEND AND WONT WORK..

HERES WHAT I NEED 2 ELBOWS OUT OF 6061 16 GAUGE .065" WALL 2 1/4 OD TUBING WITH A 90 DEGREE BEND WITH A 4" RADIUS AND 4 " LEGS FOR A OVER ALL LENGTH OF 12 IN FROM END TO END INCLUDING THE RADIUS..

THANKS GUY'S

Dang right bud , that looks like it would work.. just cut the long end down and take it and get the ends flared id be in business ...Thanks bro , i appreciate that

take em to a muffler shop and get them to bend em. thats what i did when converted my 220 to a 520 using a aircraft carb. that aint my brainstorm, ive seem lots of people do it that way. aint heard of nuthin bad either. and its a heck of alot cheaper than buying em.

Here's a thought....take your dented tubes to a band instrument repair shop. A good band instrument guy is used to taking dents out of turmpets, trombones, tubas etc. They always seem to dent where there is a bend.

Should be cheap..

You should have no problem tracking down a set of pipes you need. Call a couple aircraft overhaul shops. I would never think of going through the trouble of trying to have a set made. I will PM you a phone number for a guy who has what you need and can help you.
