Need Prop Advise for SBC 383

I'm in need of some Prop advise for my airboat, I have a 14ft Fiberglass with 383 stroker. When I purchased the boat it had a 74" 5 blade Razor X prop on it and I took it off due to the boat floor needing to be fixed and I installed it on my other boat, I had a boat accident and the blades on my Razor X all messed up. So I'm wondering what would be a good Prop for my boat I have done a lot of research but seem more confused now. I'm really thinking of a 2 blade for the push but also I liked the Razor X for the speed. So can someone please help me with prop advise on what I may need for my boat. I think I'm wanting more push vs speed because it will be my wife, daughter and me. Also how much speed difference is between a two blade vs say Warp or Razor X prop? Thanks for any advise you can give me.

You might consider the Excalibur. 72" 4 blade bowtie. Great push and good top end as well. They wok very well in direct drive applications. Just so happens I have one for sale.

We run a 70" 2 blade Q on my Son's DD 385", but on a 12' hull. The Q is hard to beat for a DD application

Thanks for the help.

Also how good is the push, like will it run dry and what kind of speeds is he getting?

Push is good. His boat is a 12' Big "O" with poly, and the rigging is pretty light. It runs the hill damn good for a DD. There's quite a few folks on here and Southern Airboat FB page that can attest to that. We run Kissimmee, he has no issue climbing the ridge with 2 adults. When we stop at the Glory Hole pavilion, he runs up into the cabbage palms and parks in the dirt next to the pavilion, has no trouble taking off and heading back to the water (my guess is it's approx. 100yds?). You having a bigger, heavier boat, won't perform like his, but like I stated earlier, the Q is hard to beat for a DD, just my opinion. His top end is about 45mph.

Heck ya thanks for the info and running dry really isn't an issue for me I live in middle Ga and we run a lot of deep water. I just want a prop that has good push being it will be me,my wife and daughter.

How did the Razor work?

The Razor did awesome had decent push but had great mid and awesome top end. I would still be running it if I didn't mess up all the blades and there $330 a piece so instead of spending $1600 on just blades im going to go with a two blade.

I like my 72" JM, pops up on plane, faster cruise at lower rpm than my warp, and honestly didn't lose anything on the top end.

Thanks for the info that what I was wanting to hear. I want something that gets up quick we stop lot and its on sand, so I need push to get up and going.

Have you purchased a new prop already? I have a 2blade 72" whisper tip. I'm looking to go to a 4 blade. Due to adding a turbo to my smallblock

No not yet how much are you wanting for your prop? I will message you my phone number and you can text or call me and we can talk.

River Rat,

I have the 72" WT on 2 different boats, 4 & 6 cylinder aviation direct drives, it is comparable to the Q (both 10-1/2" blades) and will perform well for your application. But, in your original post you talked about snap and speed. If you want to keep some snap, the WT narrow would be a better choice and would plane the boat out faster. The difference in speed might be a handful of mph either way.

Myself, I am way more disappointed if I get stuck somewhere vs. being the fastest through, so I would go with the wider blade.

Thanks for the info and I just purchased a new 72" Whirlwind narrow. Yeah im thinking more of needing bottom end push vs top speed.
