New Airboat motor 700ft pound of torque!

I'm teaming up with somebody and we are developing a proto type motor for a possible contract! This motor will weigh under 600 pounds with a Rotator gearbox and it will make a minimum of 700ft pounds of torque! I can't get into the specifics but this combo will be designed from the ground up for airboat use! This motor will be designed for large 14ft airboats all the way to 30ft!

I have put a clutch on a Rotator and dumped it at 6,000RPM for a month, I have ran a BBC with two stages and I have never broke one! I know all the Airboat dealers like the Stinger because it's not owned by an airboat manufacture! The Rotator is owned by Classic and I believe that is why all the big airboat manufactures will cut off their right arm not to use one. I have never seen a Rotator fail and I don't believe it's worth $400 dollars more to run a Stinger especially with the LS motors because you have to buy a $250 dollar adapter. Then it costs me around $650 dollars more to run a Stinger! I just don't see a difference with them and Bud has always treated me fairly. Those are just a few reasons!

well good luck .you get what you pay for . every one i seen rattled so bad I was scared to park beside it .let alone the oil leaks .i could say a lot more but i wont.

Thats funny I have owned four or five and sold a ton of them and not one oil leak or complaint! P.S. the old oil leaks were caused by people blocking the pressure vent! Also Classic has been improving them on a regular basis and now they are the only box rated for 1,000HP. They are much quieter, stronger and better then they were just three years ago! I have seen just as many loud Stingers as I have Rotators I have ran them both on small blocks and big blocks and I haven't noticed any difference let alone one worth $650! I see a Rotator that I owned 12 years ago and it has yet to have it's first problem! I will not bash either one and if they cost exactly the same I would still run the Rotator!

Back to the engine! Are you planning on borrowing any components that are already being produced? Sounds like a dream project!!! 8) And dont take that to mean I think your dreaming! It's just that it would be so cool to be involved!!! 8)

Let's just say the proto type heads are made from billet blocks of aluminum! I'm committed to have two production motors at the Miami boat show next year!

Water thunder, you say they have a pressure valve.Where? Is it suppose to be in the top fill hole? Both my boxes where used and they had brass plugs in the top and bottom. Is this wrong?

Remove the top brass fill plug and then install a 1/2 inch barbed hose fitting then just run a 1/2 hose with a loop just like your vent on your gas tank. Years ago Classic only wanted people to run Warp Drives so they put the vent in the end of the output shaft! So when you ran a Billet Sensenich or Power Shift hub the hub blocked the vent so the box could not bleed off pressure when it heats up. Or from the gears turning so some boxes leaked. When you run a vent on the top it solved most all the seal problems. I started running vents on Rotators over ten years ago and yet to have a leak anywhere!

If you want to talk about a loud clattering box then park next to my Precision. Strong as hell but equally as loud when idling.
