Hey guys,

I'm new in this addictive hobby. I'm looking for a 4 banger. rig that won't cost me over $4000. I'm looking for a starter rig. I currently have an aluminum boat converted to an airboat with a 65 hp. continental. Great duck hunting boat, but I'm addicted and want a REAL airboat, so if anybody knows of one, let me know. I've never hunted out of airboats until this past season, and I'll never go back to mudmotors! I'm hooked!!!!!!!! :p Thanks........

If you are a beginner, be sure you know what you are getting into for $4k. At that price you better be resourceful and skilled or you will spend a bunch more than that making it right.

Get someone who KNOWS airboats from stem to stern to help ya check them out.

I found a deal at that price and it was a real sweet deal indeed.

So far though....

I have used up a bunch of good will from folks giving me bits and pieces.

I have spent several hundred dollars on Conduit, and welding supplies, and small parts.

I have invested near $10,000 worth of time, and likely will have that much more in it before its finished.

And the odds of me being totally happy with it are slim. It will be a fine boat even though it wont be exactly what I wanted.

That statement translates to more dollars spent in the future as well.

When ya do things on the cheep even, this is an expensive hobby.

Just understand what its about, spend your time before your money. Dont make your family suffer so YOU can have a boat. Family is fifrst.
