New Boat

I am going to start a new topic of me building my new metal-works(rigging). I know you guys love this stuff, and I'd like to see what some people think. I sold my hull today, so I will be purchasing the conduit, rudders, and tank maybe tomorrow, if not monday to get started. Just to let you know what my new boat will be, its will be an e-series 0-470 Continental w/ fuel-injection, on a 11ft. Shallow Sided Predator Hull, Low setting two seater metal-works rear driver, and a 6-blade warp-drive.. I belive this boat gonna SKOOT! What ya think?

when you say shallow sided, what are the dimensions of that? i bought my new hull and i requested 21" sides. i've seen some airboats on here that have ac engines that appear to have 16" sides.......especially the hamant hulls. thats where i got the idea. they look really good

Got the new parts for my motor from J.c Stanley yesterday, so i will be putting it together probably tomorrow. I have my hull, and will hopfully start my metal-work this week! will keep you posted

Saw your pictures, nice work. That conduit stand looks so simple.

What size conduit is that, and what is on your stringers, square or conduit? Looks square in the photo.

The back a-frame is 3/4" conduit, the two front frames have a peice of 1" in front, and 3/4 in back. I threw in 3/4 on the motor stand to make it light for a fast race style boat. On the stringers is 3/4" conduit, with metal flat-bar straps. Tomorrow will finish stand, and start on cat-walk. Will kepp posted!

I finished the engine stand, and started the cat-walk today. Tomorrow i will finish the cat-walk, and put the seat and expanded metal on. Let me know what you think????

Ok, i've decided to end this thread. No one is commenting me on my work, so ok? I wont take the time to put pics on here everynight and get no talk about it.

predator0470, Dont get discouraged. Try posting the pics on the thread like Red Dwarf did. Makes it easy to look at the pics, read the posts and reply. I just cheked out your pics, real pretty work. The boat is going to be awsome.

whoo there 0470 there may not be many comments but were sure readin and lookin better then 480 views so far ,keep up the good work

if the metal works look as nice as the boat you just sold it will be nice. I looked at your old boat at the swap meet. It wasn't hard do to that you was parked right beside me. I had the boat with the DD 302 on it. Keep the good work up. We'll see you on a run someday.

Ok that didnt work so lets try this start your message post when you ready to insert the picture which you have already uploaded to the picture gallery click on the picture button at the top of the page then open it then click in the middle of the pic and open properties then highlight with your mose the address of the pic(it turns it blue) then click in the midle of the highlight area you just made (right click) and select copy. then use your back button on your browser to get back to your post you are making and the slect the img buton here then go to edit and click paste then select the IMG button here again and wallah you are done. it sounds complicated but it really isn't bad after one or two times. maybe some day we will get an easy post button LOL [/img]http://www.southernairboat.com/photopost/data/500/Picture_037.jpg oh well screw it send a PM to matt and ask for hel GEEZ this shouldnt be so hard to do

And here is a link to Pred's gallery where there are LOTS more photos of this project:

I've enjoyed watching Red's project, (& still do) and I look foreward to seeing this one too. Be sure to get some close-ups of some of your joinery.

It's stuff like this (and Red's always good topics) that make this the single best airboating site on the web!

I've taken the liberty to edit a few of the descriptions in the photo gallery to include a link to this thread.

Posting tip: Use the Preview button. If the photo does not show, you can play with the settings and keep previewing it untill you get it figured out. Cntry is right, posting a photo is not a difficult thing to do, but it is unforgiving if you slip up on even the smallest detail. Trial and error does not always work with a prop spinning at 3000 rpm, but it works great here in the forum! :) Once you do it a few times, we'll be seeing a bunch of photos with the descriptions they deserve!

matt.

Thanks for the help guys! i will finish the cat-walk and seat today. Hopfully i will start the cage ether tomorrow or saturday. Will keep posted. Yes Bobby Jr. builds a great hull, that new wide track is bad a**!
