welcome to the forum bandit my favorite spot is the st johns river you can put in at state road 50,46,520,192 and the river to name a few!! we have monthly runs a great way to meet members and learn alot .reading this forum and using the search feature can answer alot of questions as well

Welcome Bonnie & Bill ! Great to have you with us. You'll love this place. Loads of friendly folks with tons of experience and first hand knowledge. The archives are full of past discussions on nearly any topic you can imagine. We have a clubs section but not all clubs have listed with us yet.

When I'm home I primarily ride the South St. Johns River. There are put-ins at Lake Washington, I-95 and Sarno Road and Hwy 192 just West of I-95.

Monthly club rides arre the perfect time to meet folks and see HOW others have done things and hear their experiences. Really great folks.
Look for the Southern Airboat Sticker on their cars, trucks, boats. You too can join the fun by clicking on the blue Southern Airboat Member under your name in your posts and become a site supporter, thats one way to get your stickers and no telling what else. Then folks will be looking for your boat, car, truck etc. :) I have no shame, just had to plug the site :)

Welcome and your best bet would be to check out the lake county airboat club and others in your area. Most folks welcome new boaters and don't mind telling you where to go. They tell me where to go all the time. You have stumbled upon a truly great bunch of folks on here.

have you ever stopped to think... and forgot to start again, where was I

Welcome Bonnie and Bill! This is the greatest place for information and to meet some of the finest people ever. We have had our boat for about a year now and it is truly one of the best decisions we have ever made. The second was to join SA. We will be at the Broward Airboat show the weekend of the 25th, stop by and introduce yourselves.

Bonnie & Bill - On the west side of Clermont there is a road - I forget the name, maybe cr19 that goes up past Cherry Lake Farms and then to the turnpike. Near where that road crosses Hwy 50 there is a small public ramp on the Palatakhaha River. Just across the ramp (almost) is a spot where you can jump out of the river banks into a smallish marsh. I've never ridden it but been fishing out there a lot and seen some airboats riding the area. That section of the Palatakhaha is limited by the bridge right there at the ramp, and a few miles down stream there is a flood control dam on the north side of Mascott. But inbetween there are 2 or 3 really nice lakes.

Please be careful with the sound levels. that area is EXPLODING with development, and you'd be boating in folk's backyards. It's not the best place, but the nearest. Probably not an issue on a nice saturday afternoon, but you DEFINITELY would not want to do any night riding out there.

You are invited to join us at Lake Kissimmee on April first. I believe the lake clean up event is based out of Camp mack, but there are several places you can trailer your boat to. If you need more info about directions, just ask.

There is a lot of marshy stuff down around Lake Louise State Park on the south side of Clermont. not sure if it's riding material though, and if it is, I'm not sure if airboats are permitted.

matt.

Welcome-welcome-welcome. You have found the right place to get all your answers and assitance. A whole lot of great folks on this forum that enjoy helping others. Just treat the boat like a new date, Slow & Easy & with Respect, and you'll get along just great. Lots of fun too. Later, Cajun
