NEW LAKE WINDER PAVILION

He folks the new pavilion on Lake Winder behind Moccasin island is sweet and really nice. We all know some punks are going to vandalize it so let's all police the idiots about throwing out trash there and tearing up walls and such. Only airboaters can navigate that area so lets all keep it nice. I'm also wanting to put together a crew to clean up Oak Head and make roof repairs. Some more punks have shot up the place and burned or vandalized the tables and benches. Any volunteers?

Thunder, that new pavillion sounds nice.SJWMD put one up near us just south of 46 at the econ. It is a shame people vandalize these places that were put there for everyone to enjoy. I will talk to skeeter and scac to see if we could plan a run to oak head to help out with that clean up.We just did a cleanup and repair of bear bluff between 46 and sr 50.Looking forward to seeing some of them new thunder boats at kissimmee.

Thunder,my boats down but for a ride there and back i`ll go.except sunday it`s my anniversery and my wife aint got that much sence of humor

Thunder took us to the pavillion on Sunday. What a nice, peaceful and secluded place. Make sure y'all take your garbage out of there though because there is no garbage can there.

I was doing a search on Lake Winder (as I do with almost all the riding areas y'all chat about to find out where they are) and came across this kayaking site (link below) I thought it was nice that they give GPS coordinates for different areas around Lake Winder, don't know how many people here use GPS, but I sure do.

The site even said a few things about airboaters and how we are usually nice and steer clear of the kayakers.....of course...LOL

thought I would post it.

FoMe, of course we steer clear WHEN WE CAN SEE EM but they're like an uncharted water hazard, and they come up about as fast as an oyster bed or an old piling.
Nobody I know wants to hit one of them ...... we respect their right to the water too, but damn if they won't suprise you sometimes.

They say they can't run flags because of their need to be able to roll over.
OK, here's an option, and one I'd like to see the FAA or the FWC or somebody pursue ...... flashing strobes.
I have a little one (one "D" cell) that clips on to my PFD. It blinks every few seconds, is waterproof, can be seen from a long way off, and only weighs a few ounces. I keep it in case I sink my boat. If we've gotta run flags, they should have to have a marker too.
JMO.
