Thats what I thought. I keep thinking airplane. I think that sump is supposed to be a little more effecient since it heats the intake air less. There is an aftermarket cold air induction system for experemental aircraft, but it is expen$ive.

I would think that for an airboat you could eilminate the intakes through the sump and fabricate a cold air induction. There is not room for that in most airplanes.
