New to aircraft need some advice

What do you guys think of this setup looking to buy an aircraft boat GPU BOTTOM END WITH 520 GTSIO TOP END, anyone have any experience with one.

Crabby, It is an excellent setup but be sure it has a strong bottom end. If the boat is local see if he would let you take it to JC'S . He would be able to tell you if the motor is ok.

Thanks how much of a difference is there in the straight valve 540 lycomings

Well a straight valve 0540 is stock motor that will take one h#ll of a beating and are lighter I believe than a converted GPU. Still both motor are excellent choices.
