I have recently move to dixie county florida and have always had an interest in airboats. I have been involved in expermintal aircraft for the last 30 years and have found it more comfortable on the ground as time has gone on. I am looking a building a mini in the near future. I have a subaru ea-81 with a remax redrive and a 66x32 tennasee prop I took off a gyrocopter a few years back. Hope to build something around that engine. I am most interested in skinny water fishing and exploration. Any help or guidance would be welcome. I would be willing to pay for fuel and beer to get some time on the water in the mean time. This seems like a nice group of people and I hope to be able to contribute in some way in the future.

You could not be dealing with a nicer group of folks than on Southern Airboat and I am sure you will find all the help you could ever need from the folks on this site, there is a lot of interest in Minni's on this site and the power plant you have is a good one good luck finding a Hull to put your motor in

Welcome aboard John.

I used to follow the Rotorcraft Forum closely and even bought plans to build one. Still wonder if the Mayor of Bainbrige, GA is flying them with the only insturment panel certified by the US postal service. Over time though I decided to go back to airboating. That Subaru Engine is a class act for a mini hull.

There is a nice new mini fiberglass hull offered in this section of the forum and I also think someone showed a new Aluminum hull in these mini threads recently as well.

Keep us posted as you progress. Oh what is the ratios for your reduction drive?
