Yes it's good to be back , Tourist season is over , The river is starting to ice over bears are looking for a place to sleep for winter , I got my moose in the freezer...Winter is near and I have to wait 6 more months to see flowing water............. UNLESS I come to Florida and see you guys!!!!!!! :D

Come on down, man. Turn down the thermostat, damp down the coals, and come on.

The next ride down here that you hear about, bring your bride and just show up. There are always plenty of seats. No problem :) .

Might have to do it...The wife wants to go back to South Carolina in Jan or Feb. to visit Kin folks I might have to say "see ya all" and make a B line to your place after all it would be like driving from my house to the nearest airport 3 1/2 hours away......... :D But thats a small price to pay for paradise..

No problem there. South Carolina is almost in our 'back yard'. It only takes an hour and a half on I-95 to cross coastal Georgia,

hey Alaska Tours,
The great airboating weather is just starting!! :D Anybody can run when it's warm outside. It takes a REAL airboater to run when the snow starts to fly... (some would say real crazy) I do agree with you though, it can get a might COOOLD.... Let the winter commence

What part of Georgia ? I lived close to Clarks Hill ,I know they call it Thurmond lake but it's still Clarks hill to me, Fished there alot and hunted alot on the Savannah river . Want to go back in Jan or Feb and hog hunt with a friend before I come and see you guys...................... :D

Bigkavr,

I would love to run up here when it freezes ,But the river has so many void spots in it that you can fall into a crevase and never get out.
I did put a covered top on it this summer, I'm going to put a heater in there as a winter project... Here is a photo of it

One of my old business partners used to fly cargo/freight into Talkeetna and points on up country through the pass from Anchorage in a Stinson 108-2 Stationwagon in the 60's and early 70's. Said more than once he has flown into the pass just knowing where it is and felt his way to the other side.

Said he quit flying in Alaska cause he had been right so many times he felt his number was getting closer to being up so he moved to Florida and went back to engineering with us. Says his old Stinson is still up there sommers flying around. Hes flying a D-18 Beech into Nicaragua now where he bought a ranch and retired.

He maintained the best pilots in the world all seem to have some time flying in Alaska.

Sweet looking enclosure, heater sounds just right. Alaska to me brought a whole meaning to SuperSize Me !

Sniper: Your pal in Kodiac wouldn't be my " We'llKeep the Light on for Ya" buddy would it? We might have common friends up there :) Shhhh PM me if it is.

Alaska tours

I live in a small town just out side Atlanta called Fairburn but I now where you were used to live that is a nice area

White Bear my friend in Kodiak is Mark White he has several houses up there and used to be a prpfessor for the University of Alaska he lives in Alabama during the winter now but I did get to be friends with several of his buddys and that is a small population on tha Island so I am sure we may know some of the same folks.

Whitebear ,
Your friend did the right thing by not flying anymore up here , There is a saying for pilots up here...There are old pilots and there are Bold pilots ...But you never hear of a Old Bold pilot

Sniper ,
I know of Fairburn

If any of you guys ever take a Princess Cruise up here to Alaska drop me an email..Thats who I have a contract with to do our ATV, AIRBOAT and ARGO tours I'll make sure you get on free..

Hey Runnabear does anyone on this site that you know of build boats like Leonard?

Hey Sam where ya been ? Did you ever get to go with Leonard for a ride ? If not your more than welcome to come up here this spring and I'll take you for a spin . As far as an Alaska airboat I have not seen any on here ,These good ol' boys like their boats light and fast . We need the tanks we run up here because of the places we go. Besides these guys have never seen your photos of your old boat packed for moose hunting............ :D . Keep an eye in the Anchorage paper I have seen a few in there during the winter.

yeah we went out last weekend BRRRRRRRRRR it was cold but a blast. We ran the knik and Jim creek all over. We went in an 18ft with 7ft bottom counter rotators with the 8.1 engine it was pretty awesome and i want one.

75K for what I want though

I think it is a rip off but what do ya do . Buy one someone elses boat that has beat the tar out of?

You know how Alaskans use their stuff. It is pulverized by the time they sell it.

Email me your phone number I lost it. Would love to talk to ya about this. I am starting a guide business in the summer
