New Toy

I went up to Academy Sports in Birmingham today and came home with a new shotgun. It's a Yildiz Silah made in Turkey. I compared it with some much more expensive o-u,s and it looked much their equal, even fit and ballanced better than some. Well I brought it home and I love it, and for less than $400 retail :D . Have any of you tried this gun, and if so what did you think. Glenn

I have never seen one Genn, but I don't doubt it is nice.

Some US importers have worked long and hard to get a quality product, by working directly with gun manufacturers over there.

I'm all for buying Made in America man, but a fine shotgun can be a tough nut to crack for a Family man.

Heck, a good working field gun for a working man can be tough to afford anyore.

I guess sombody has to pay for all those junk lawsuits against the industry.

Hope it turns out to be a good one for you.

Ain't nothing like bringing home a brand new firearm man.

"Hey honey, look what WE got today!"

I been looking at one of those side by sides by Spartan, I think
its Russian made , imported by Remington. Any body had any
dealings with these. The price looks good compared to any other
side by side I've seen.
Kevin.

Thanks guys, I've even saw an add where Savage is importing an o-u or a s-s shotgun! If it's anything to compare with there rifles it will be AWSOME!

K-mac, this is only an old man talkin', but don't forget that you can go to gun shows and such and pick up some of the finest weapons (I'm a shotgunner too) this Country has ever produced in very nice, often nearly new condition for a lot less than what some of the imports are selling for.

Don't get too hung up on price. There are a lot of very nice American Classics out there for the same or less money. Patience is required.
I have 3 Mod. 1100 Remingtons, a 12, and two 20's ..... and I don't have more than $250 in any of them.

But they're not for sale. :)

Just a thought.

Olf, I like your thinking but the last several gun showes I attended the prices were higher than some local retailers, on most guns. Something that I'm curious about is why the Belgan Browning is so special, compared to the Japanise made guns? I can't remember an African made automobile, but the Japanise cars are typically of better quality than American.
