Newbie needs help

Welcome. Don't give up on that mag you have. I had an AC guy tell me I needed a new one.
I took it to Jurnigan's ---they replaced the bad condensor and installed new points---had me going in about 15 min. Their # is 813 752 9214. Also Mike Thurman does AC engines--- you can contact him through the SA members list.

Good Luck

I agree with Harvey. A lot of AC mechanics are in the habit of just pulling a component and replacing it ... instead of repairing it ... so they won't have to deal with certification issues. I'll bet yours can be repaired.

Welcome renegade0540. Great to have you on the site. Get that mag tuned up and get to the business of enjoying that airboat. :hello2:

On another thread, Cowboy mentioned a magneto guru that he liked named Howard Libersky in Okeechobee (863) 467-6464. If Cowboy likes him
that's good enough for me. Call him and tell him what you've got. He can probably give you another estimate over the phone.

That's what I'd do if it was my mag.

If you're looking for someone in Orlando, try Wally Moore. He's always treated us real good.

Moore's Aircraft Engines Inc.
56 N. Tampa Avenue
Orlando, FL
407-422-4318

He's over there by the T-bowl.

Ya, its probably not worth fixin', but if your gonna throw it away just send it to me I'll pay the shipping(ha ha) Unless there is damage to the case there shouldn't be any reason it can't be rebuilt. Don't let anybody BS ya especially if they tell ya something like that and say you can just leave there they will throw it away for ya.
