Just thought I'd post for some of you guys on a budget who already own 502s. We've been workin on some new things for the demands of the average guy/sportsman who doesn't wanna spend a bunch of money on a high-end piece or replace their tired crate engine with another one just like it.

The main thing about the newest series is fuel requirement. I don't care if you run it on the cheapest gas in North East Russia. We've added displacement and a new camshaft grind to lower cylinder pressures and be much more tolerant of heat.

The 502 with a 2.38 and 3-Blade Maximus turned a best (When fresh) of 5000RPM and was down to under 4600 before it was pulled for freshening. (You know...Wiped-out valvetrain and poor ring seal)

Now with the LOWERED compression ratio and added cubes (540) it turns 1/4" more pitch 5600 and the customer is in love with the power.

Fixin a tore up engine and making way more power cost him just over $5k.

So that's my hype, spam and whatever else you can call it...And hopefully food for thought.

I'll be posting the newest series of engines as well as parts/kit upgrades on the site as soon as Dave is healed up and ready to go back to work. ;)

I just steal Mommas digital camera and black out the background in Microsoft "Paint"...Think it looks a lot better without crap all in the background, and works good for my site's black layout.

Now I'm not sure I'd say anything about pee.....Airboaters drink a lotta beer, and don't wanna give em any bad ideas!

Those are awesome #!! Like you say you can upgrade the engine run cheap gas and still be cheaper than a new crate motor which is like the same prison sentence all over again. Whats not to like. That much More pitch at that rpm with that ratio is not easy to do!

looks and sound like a durable motor and a work horse. people and boat manufactures need to look at you and potter real hard and get away for the crate junk thats out there. keep up the work.

Thanks Guys. I'm real happy with how it works out. After all, if I can save my customers money, I'm providing a better service. But to answer Potter's question...I don't have an outright price on a Mark V or VI engine. By the time I upgrade them with all new parts, they cost just as much to build a superior all-aftermarket Mark IV piece. And finding used stuff is damn near imposible. I'm fighting a build right now that has a junk block, and from GM the 502 only costs about $400 less than a Dart Big M...So that's why I don't do em as "outrights". I think they're a perfectly suited upgrade for the hundreds of crate 502s out there that can use a boost in power and reliability on a budget, rather than have someone sell em just another light-duty piece for more money.

Of course the Low Octane is a free-of-charge option on my Severe Dutys, so that pricing is public knowledge on my site.

Thanks
