It's been about two months since the state began requiring mufflers on airboats, but the issue of noisy airboats has not quieted in Alachua County.

Hey good article Rick !

It shows the pro boaters and the antis at least are somewhat willing to wait and see if things get better or worse.

I especially like the even handed approach described for FWC education first then enforcement.

Sure hope all this works out.

Jerry Wetherington, the president of United Sportsmen and Airboaters Aliance (USAA), which is based in the Orange/Lockloosa area is very involved in attending to the issues there.
His great guidance, and communication with county officials over there is a big part of why this article has a 'wait and see' tone to it.
