Yep it is different. Didn't look too fast, and I wonder what kind of protection that bottom has and how $$$$$$$ to fix the hull if and when it wears out or gets a flat. But neat idea. Later

They are not nearly as fast as an airboat. The small ones run a garden tractor engine and their big 20 footer runs a 1.8 Subaru engine. The bottom is protected by rising above the surface so it should avoid getting hit that much. Here is a link to the plans is you want to read a bit more.
