The NWTF has purchased 60 oak trees to be planted in the JW Corbett wildlife management area, and Marianne and Johnnie Jones /Hungry land Wildlife Environmental Area. This is a good time to come out and meet members of the Florida Sportsman's Conservation Association and Airboat & Halftrack Conservation Club of PBC the NWTF has purchased the trees for the FWC and the other to conservation clubs are helping out on the labor to plant these trees this is more of a social event than work the holes are doug with an augur, all we have to do is put the tree and the whole and backfill with dirt. We will be meeting in the JW Corbett campsite N at :P 6:30 a.m. after the first 30 trees are planted  we will head over to hungry land to plant the last 30 trees this event will be followed by some of the best  mouthwatering barbecue you have ever tasted so if you're looking for a good time and some good camaraderie joining us Sunday April 29,2007 this is a family outing so bring the kids hop to see you there. When you go in the north gate stop to get a map head south on the North grade till it ends you then will be at the South grade take a left followed the South grade till it ends take any nether Left follow it around to the pump station and you will be at Camp N.

If you can't make it to Polk County Project Eagle event with KRVSA come on out and join us and other Airboater's to show others in the community that we are good people living in South Florida trying to make a difference.

Airboat4fun we would love to have you I know the start time is early but it gets hot real fast the last few that they have had ran a little late, around one or two in the afternoon is a little hot I will PM you with my cell number and give you a little more detail. Nothing I would like to see better than some children helping out plane trees that they will get to enjoy, maybe even go back there later in life to enjoy something they did when they were a child.

There are some marshes and sloughs but I don't think you can run an airboat in Corbett, and I have never been to Hungryland.
I need some "rural therapy" and time in the woods is the only way to get it.
PLUS I get to spend the day with my boy and we both get to play in the dirt.

BW-Is there anything special I should bring along...is it BYOS (bring your own shovel)

Hey Bravo, when it comes to going for an airboat ride we go down to your neck of the woods or out to Lake O. the FSCA has participated in work projects with airboats In areas that normally do not allow Ariboats. When the water is up we usually use tire buggy but right now you can go anywhere you pretty much want in a pickup truck so with the price of gas we will all more than likely be using our trucks. There is not much Airboating and Palm Beach County. But we all still like to go to the woods and enjoy them anyway we can and this is just another reason to get on out there. No on the ariboat's

The tree planting is set for tomorrow they were out there today with the tractor digging holes and delivering trees to the site, they reported sighting of a lot of game deer, hog and turkey's. If you're coming out bring your gloves, shovels, and drinks. They planned to have lunch in around 12 Noon the menu looks like this BBQ pork dirty rice and corn on the cob with water and soda. Also remember alcohol is prohibited in the JW Corbett wildlife management area

The Palm Beach chapter NWTF had around 45 volunteers show up on Sunday, :D last year had a round 15 volunteers. We all planted 66 tree's 33 in each area they were all staked and water, we all returned to the pavilion for launch and out of their by noon. The FSCA helped start this chapter a round 10 years ago, back then the JW Corbett were harvested around 90 deer per year, and 5 turkeys per year. This year hunter's Harvested 144 Deer and 40 Turkeys. The only thing that's changed in the last 10 years is more burning, planting food plots and all of this done by volunteers/ working with the FWC, doing the work with NWTF $$$ materials. So when you go to one of the NWTF banquets  keep this in the back of your mind the money is being well spent. Putting more animals on the ground. It was also good to meet airboat4fun out there working hard with his son a long with  10 other children.
