Oil Coolers

Ever since the thread regarding oil temps, I have been looking on line at the different types of oil coolers. Where do you find the large single row coolers?? I have a 9 tube single row now but all I see at Jegs and Summit are 6 tube and below unless you go with a double row. If something were to happen to mine where do I look???

On an aircraft motor I like to run an oil cooler that has tanks on the ends of the core like oem aircraft coolers. I really like Fluidyne coolers, http://www.fluidyne.com/pl_theoc.html . I have the DB-30616 all pro 600 and the cooler alone holds over 1 1/2 quarts of oil.

That Hayden cooler looks like the one on my boat (0540). I have it covered this time of year. Remember to always use two wrenches on the fittings or you can trash your cooler.

Joe, I have been trying to get you for weeks. Carol and I both have lost your tele. numbers. Call me Henry

It's going on my 520 continental Marshmaster. The continentals use an oil temp thermostat on them so I'm not worried about having too much cooling, always better then not enough.

Blackpowder, i think if you wanted to replace you oil-cooler, the easiest thing for you to do is purchase one from Combee Airboats.. Its 130.00 and most likely the some oil-cooler you have now... and i belive you are around my area, and Combee is close... glad to help

Predator0470...Yeah, I gotta swing by there and pick up a fuel pump anyways. I don't need a cooler now, I was just curious for future reference. Thanks for all the replies everyone.

where do you have your oil cooler mounted? if you move it from below the engine up to above the engine you'll probably see a drop of 20 degrees..........thats what i did and it helped a lot. but, thats just me!!!!

Mine's above the engine...I don't have a cooling issue though, I was just curious and decided to get some talk going. Thanks for the hint though.

Here's the style of cooler I like the best. The stacked plate design is very efficient, and it's also very strong which is great on an airboat where you are pelting it with swampgrass, birds, sand etc.

It's available from SummitRacing.com among others

Make sure you're getting the kind with pipe thread openings rather than the barbed fitting style.
