what do ya'll think should I have a oil dipstick (witch is proving to be a pain to get between the engine bracket) or should I just have a clear site tube?

I have seen many GPU dipsticks that like to pop out of the tube, making them very susceptible to water intrusion from rain and such. Plus a sight gauge is easy to see your oil level in a quick glance.

great question gold, i was debating this idea myself, as i am going to be running a vacuum pump so ill need to be able to get a proper seal my dipstick tube anyway- why not just get rid of it and put a site tube ?? lets hear from the engine masters !!

could you rig up a sight tube on a 540?

man I have been told I can RIG anything

Larry,
I didn't have any problems with my last one being lose as a matter a fact it was kinda tight and a pain to get out

T-rex,
I made the front intake tube an Pentium then installed today and I keep looking at when the dipstick needs to go and all I could think was"How in heck am I going to make that fit" then I thought about a site tube an to be honest I would probably look at that more often then checking a stick.

looks like the vote is 100% in favor of the tube looks like that's how I will go, thanks guys
