Oil Pan Gasket Help

ShadowGrass Shooter

Well-known member
Guys, I'm getting ready to replace the oil pan gasket on my motor to stop a relatively small leak near the back. Are there any tricks to getting these things to not leak any more. Should I be looking to put some silicone around the edges as well, or is the gasket alone enough?

Any help would be appreciated!!!!!!!!

Shadowgrass, Fel-Pro has a new gasket that is the sweetest thing I've seen in a while.
It's all one piece ...... pan rails and both the front and rear main seals all molded into one continuous gasket. The only silicone you need to use is at the four corners where the main seals meet the pan.

You even get four plastic bolts with it that hold it in place while your getting the pan in position. Around $30 bucks, but worth every penny.
