Stayed with the Maddog airboat at the Lakeport Lodge this weekend. Saw a couple Southern Airboat stickers, but never anyone around the boats. One nice boat was being pulled by an HL Bennett civil engineering truck.....sweet boat. Charles

Ru, how was the water level, have they began to drop it the three foot they were talking about to do a clean up?

droppin like crazy...came out on one of the trails I have run all year only to find out it was slick mud....when the wind blows out of the west it gets' worse..no froggin this summer till the rain comes.

Word on the street is that they're planning on letting the lake get to around 9'. The last time it got that low the Moore Haven canal was bone dry and all you could see from the Harney Pond park was mud flats and "zero" water in sight.

We hunted monkeybox area and north shore. Killed all our mallards plus a few teal, tree ducks, and a ringer. Wind had whats left of the water blown out all weekend. The MAN was giving out warnings to several people for no flags

We DID indeed limit out on pillow ducks sunday morning! That was us at the cafe...lol. I was in the Maddog airboat parked at Lakeport Lodge pulled by a white superduty. Charles

wasn't you we saw, I left to go out about 4:30......picked ruagatr and his crew up from their duck blinds, and watched the sun set till about 8:30....it was a nice cool ride back to the ramp, if it weren't for the wife, I would have rode all night long. I miss the marsh not having any water in it. On the way out, I looked for frogs, only saw a few. Maybe it was too early for them, but the lake is in bad shape now. We need to get together for a ride one day soon. Let's hope SFWMD takes advantage of the low conditions and cleans the place up???
