went on a ride in lake okeechobee last weekend and it would have been a nice ride if there wasn't empty oil cans everywere.I must have seen a hundred of them. All these new airboatters don't understand what airboating is all about they just trow there cans anywere. the only reason I go is to get away from that kind of stuff and people.

The better we try to make it the more others will abuse it I guess. Sure makes me mad to hear about it like this.

Scumbags!

Bet it was a bass fishermen right?

Kinda hard to blame them for Shell aero 100 bottles on the ground.

One or two scumags can really louse it up in a hurry.

a 100 bottles!!!!!! Man thats like bread crumbs. You should be able to follow the bottles to the culprit. Don't know what is worse oil cans or beer cans & bottles. Hwy 50 to the beeline can be like beer can alley. The knuckleheads then tear up the cabins or shoot them up. Man, you got to take a good look at who you come across out there.

I always pick up a few things while I am out there. Hey, "scumbag" seems to be kinda a weak description. I know you have to becareful on what you say!!!!!! It's not going to get any better. That river is the most relaxing place on earth to me. The trash dumping and polution is coming from within the ranks. You can't blame it on the illegals or the rappers. I just don't see them out there.

I trow the beer bottles in my frog shute were the warden can see them and i never get a ticket for drinking because he see's i keep my trash.

Empties back in the cooler, (too many cuts on my tenderfeet to think about allowing bottles on the boat). I did like Cntry's topic of the one area where cans are counted before entering

Hey Deepsea,
I was talking about a brand of aircraft engine oil cans Shell AERO100,
and sarcastically saying that you can't blame that on a bassfishermen.

This I say, cause I've picked up other airboaters trash out there before!

I keep two mesh chute bags on my boat. One is forcritters and the other is for litters. Daytimes, I often gig the oil cans, sometimes even the beer cans as a bit of practice.

It is disturbing to realize marsh trash is airboater originated. One strong arguement of a car motor enthusiast friend of mine is that almost all oil bottles out there are Aero Shell - not 10W40.

Yeah Bigdaddy.
Any time you have users on public lands, your gonna have some trashy ones.

Airboater, Kickerboats, 4wheelers, whatever.

Some trash is obviously airboater generated, but not all trash is from airboaters.

Sure seems like airboaters are the main ones to go out and clean up ALL the trash. Regardless of who deposited it.

I know you've done your share of trash pick'in.

All I am saying, alot of that trash is coming from Airboaters. Not all of it but a fair amount. I do respect and tip my hat to those that always bring alittle extra trash back. When I see the effort to keep oposum bluff, cow crap hill and catfish clean, I am truely touched. However when you see a boat sitting on the bank or hill and you go by there the next day and see what they left behind, It makes me "SICK" Kicker boats have not been able to run the river from hwy 50 to 520. Four wheeler are all over the river and FWC is giving out $319.00 one time riding permits!!!!!!

Also, I am preaching to the choir, If you are SA, then the chances are you honor and respect the marsh, lake and river. Aero oil, beer cans and bottles, it's all trash and it don't belong on the bank.

Remember the car monkey's, well bank or marsh monkey's would be a big hit.
