The Osceola Board of County Commissioners seeks applications for the Lakes Management Advisory Committee (LMAC), approved by the Board at Monday’s meeting.

The LMAC is an advisory committee organized to provide the citizens of Osceola County, as well as the general public, with a body to present to the Board of County Commissioners various issues dealing with county lakes, ponds, and riverine systems.

Here's the whole thing...

Committee member applications will be accepted until February 8, 2007.

The nine-member Committee shall, whenever possible, consist of one representative of each of the following seven entities: The City of Kissimmee; the City of St. Cloud; the Audubon Society or other environmental association; an air boat association, fish camp, or anglers’ association; an engineering firm; the Alligator Chain of Lakes Heritage Association; and an at-large citizen of Osceola County.

Two representatives shall be chosen from the following three entities: the South Florida Water Management District; the Florida Department of Environmental Protection; and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

Members will serve two-year terms and are required to be and remain residents of Osceola County throughout their terms(s).

here is who it says will make up that board. It'll have at least one airboater on it, maybe two with the fish camp member, plus an FWC rep - possibly another airboater.

It suppose it could be worse.

If the 'at-large citizen" is an airboater, we could have 4 of nine seats on the board.

I wish I lived in osceola county so I could apply.

matt.
