Pacemaker and Alternator?

I recently went with a Pacemaker system on my SV 540. Really like it but the one thing I noticed is that after the install, my voltage was always jumping around; up to 16 volts, down to 12 back to 14, steady awhile then start jumping around again. This past weekend the alternator died. My gut says it's just a coincidence but has anybody else ever experienced electrical issues after getting the Pacemaker installed? Yes, cables are all tight, grounds are good and nothing else new installed that would affect daytime driving (I did add a 20 inch light bar but I was already experiencing the voltage fluctuations).

Sounds like a coincidence to me. Diodes in the regulator probably starting to fail. Could be that the Pacemaker furthered along the failure with the extra draw that the mags wouldn't have made.
