CALL "GLUE PRODUCTS "IN WEST PALM BEACH , THELL SHIP IT TO YOU WHERE EVER YOU ARE .. YOU NEED SELF-ETICHING ,ZINC-CHROMITE PRIMER , THEY HAVE IT IN GREY AND GREEN.. GET PLENTY OF SCRATCH-PADS ALSO , TAKE THE TIME AND DO IT RIGHT , IF YOU DONT PUT IN THE WORK WITH ALUMINUM IT WONT WORK LONG FOR YOU..
ditto what brewster says....on my old boat we used the green stuff and the paint stuck to it like super glue. One thing I would do differently is get my primer tinted to match my paint color. You will chip paint here and there, but if your primer matches it won't be as noticeable..
I used the self-etching zinc chromate primer. Is acid wash the same thind?. Then I used an industrial epoxy paint. (The kind they paint tanks, beams, walkways, pipe, etc...
Holding up pretty good.
