Paper Bills in the mail

I guess there is a new screw-with-people plan going around.

I pay my bills on line but I get paper bills sent to the house as a backup.

Now some A$$ has gone in my mailbox and marked my bills "Return to sender" Addressee Unknown ! When asked the P.O. tells the senders they could not deliver the mai in question.

I have asked all of my normal monthlies, like Water , sewer, garbage, FPL etc. if there are any unpaid bills and they say no.

HOWEVER they are all up in the air about not having a correct address for billing and services. FPL is even making veiled alusions about dropping my service if they cant verify my address. this is even worse, the email they sent me says do not reply to this email ! Now go figure that one !

Its not a bogus email as its an FPL SHTTP server its coming through.

Folks keep an eye on your mail box, if you see anyone in there but you and the post man, call 911 and have them arrested. Besure to get a good description and a tag number and vehicle type if they are in a car.

My guess this is happening late night or early morning before dawn though.

Keep your eyes open, its a BIG FRIGGIN hassle.

Scotty, this has to be some clown who knows you're out of the country and unable to deal with it except by email and letter.

I can only imagine, but it's got to be a major pain in the a$$. Sorry.

SCOTTY I WENT THREW SOME THING LIKE THAT LAST YEAR ! I ALWAYS COPY MY COMP NUMBERS SO THEY ARGUE WITH ME I SAID THIS A COPY YOU SENT ME ! POSTMASTER SAID I DIDNT GET MY MAIL OFTEN ENOUGHT ! I TOLD HIM DIDNT KNOW I WAS ON A TIME LIMIT ! ANYWAY SORRY ABOUT I WOULD COME OVER AND SIT IN YOUR GARAGE AND SHOOT WHO EVER, BUT ITS PROBLELY SOME ONE YOU KNOW ! :shock:THAT THE BAD THING ! :D I AM STILL A BELIVER OF USING STOCKS IN THE COURT HOUSE YARD AND LET POEPLE RIDE BY AND LOOK AT THE POEPLE IN THEM ! :D

You got that right. Stocks definately have their place in todays society !

I agree it most likely is someone who knows me, but doesn't have to be. If I catch them they will WISH the cops had them. I have no mercy of trouble makers, none a-tall.

It could be pranksters or it could be organized, who knows. Just another case of everyone needs to be aware of whats going on aound your house. Not stick your nose in folks business just watch and be aware.

If teh P.O. will go along with it, I may move my mailbox up by/on the house instead of out at the road.

I think Fatboy is on to the answer for this one. Many years ago, the same thing happened to me... but it was because I did not get my mail out of the box.

Turns out when your mailbox gets full, they bundle it and leave a note in your box. (I ignored the notes) What I did not understand at the time is that until you go to claim your mail in person, they stop delivering it, and keep adding to the bundle. After a little bit, they trash the junk, and return to sender all other mail.

This caused some headache, but not as much as yours, Scotty. I have all my bills sent to a service in Souix Falls, SD where they scan the bills, and make them available for me to see online. I make a click or two, and they mail a check. So my power, mortgage, etc. were all fine. It was a hospital bill and some insurance stuff that got all messed up. I had neglected to add them to the service.

And like you, they were trying to cancel my insurance.

Do you have someone getting your mail while you are away? If so, maybe they missed a little, and then the P.O. stopped delivering. Then your stuff got returned.

The likelyhood that someone maliciously messed with it is very slim. There is just nothing to gain by the vandal, and much to risk if caught.

PM me if you want the info about the bill pay service. You'll never see another bill in your mailbox again if you set it up right. That in itself is worth the $10 a month fee!!!! It's easy to set up - you just start an account with them, link it to you bank acct, and just send your billers a change of address note. For utilities, it's "service address" & "billing address". I've been paying mine this way since the mid 90's.

You'd be surprised how little bills I have.

I have a house sitter taking care of things. He admitted he has not been checking mail every day, but maybe once a week. He is going to now check the box every day.

This may well be what happened.

I got the power company off my back for now because all my accounts are current, and nothing owed.

This is just a huge aggervation.

Dakota, if you wanna do that, his name is Mike, and you can take him over $157 a month for the FPL bill if ya want. Your such a sweet person. Ill make sure he gives you a receipt :) LOL

Thanks yall, this may well be what happened.

Once before I had been gone for a year or so and had been home maybe 2 weeks when an investigator came to the door from the insurance company. He has a report nobody was living there and they were going to cancel the insurance because it was not being lived in. Go figure. I was with a different insurance back then, but they wouldnt insure a house that wasn't occupied. That was in the 80s I think. Good thing I was there. Even then I had to show him my ID and stuff to prove I lived there.

Strange way some folks think
