Probably just as often as you hear about somebody shooting up a bunch of people you hear about some whacko taking a car or truck and running into
a big crowd of people or loading it up with explosives and trying to kill a bunch of innocent bystanders. But you NEVER hear these people that want
gun control saying we should not sell vehicles to people under 21, have a waiting period, or do away with auto rentals. So why is that? Vehicles can be just as deadly as guns.
It's kind of like people that say motorcycle helmets should be mandatory when they hear of a cyclist without a helmet getting killed in an accident.
But imagine how much the traffic fatalities would go down if you were required to wear a helmet while driving a car or truck or boat? You never hear that brought up either, do you....
 
B4 long kids will be running our country..they already run most households..I understand that something needs to be done but putting guns in teachers hands..hmm don't know that I agree with that either cause I've seen numerous times on the news about a teacher beating a student's ass for being a punk!! Next thing you know teachers will be killing our kids!
 
Oh boy guess I hit a nerve or opened a can of worms..1st of all never said they still had a job after the fact..& I also said something needs to be done..I think a lot of the reason not all but a lot has to do with the way kids are raised nowadays..no disrespect for any reading this but I see a lot of kids act with absolutely no respect for anybody & that's to do with the way they were raised in my eyes..yes I feel absolutely sorry for the fallen kids etc..I don't think anyone has the answer to what should be done... it's a sorry world we all live in anymore
 
Outlaw guns? No way. Outlaw all the shoot em up video games? ABSOLUTELY! These are not for young, impressionable minds!
And while you are at, outlaw all the race car video games that lead many young people to drive real cars like complete idiots!
 
Putnam County already has already got the ball rolling to arm school staff. None will be teachers, they will be trained, as well as have psych studies done. They will conceal carry and absolutely no one will know who the “school marshals” are except the principal.
 
I wish we could use testing, training, and practice instead of politics to find the best solution to this important issue.

I don’t know if putting guns in a school is the best option. I don’t know that it isn’t. Do you?

I have always voted to support gun rights. But this is not the right vs the left. This is not guns for the people or no guns for the people. This is about the best way to make our kids safe.

I would like to see a non-partisan task force made up of police/swat experts, military strategists, criminal psychologists and any other relevant experts get together and first do some ACTUAL TESTING!!

Re-create actual scenarios and test results with lethal force, and non-lethal force. Then compare these results with existing knowledge.

Then I would like to see both sides put their political “us vs them” agendas aside and follow the recommendations of these experts. WHATEVER THEY ARE!

According to local media, the FBI was warned about a post on YouTube last September by someone with the name Nikolas Cruz that said: "I'm going to be a professional school shooter". A video blogger alerted the FBI to the comment and was then questioned by the agency. According to local media, the FBI did not alert local police about the comment.

I heard somebody say that private gun sales are no longer legal in Florida. All must go through a licensed dealer. Anybody read the
whole bill to see what was added that they aren't telling us?
 
The problem with this whole situation is there is very little consequence to go with the crime now a days, Doctors kill a 100 times more people in this country than guns do, dew to medical mistakes, plus the numbers of people killed in auto and motorcycle accidents is far higher as well, I don't see that being brought up much either, what they need to do is build a gallows in the middle of the foot ball field at that school and hall that little POS up there kicking and screaming and pissing him self and hang him in front of every kid in that school and tell them if you want to bring a weapon to school and kill people this is what is going to happen to you, they also need to televise it and make every kid in every high school watch it then they will have a consequence to go with the crime that they will remember for the rest of there lives, any one that commits a violent felony with a fire arm should be executed mandatory, I am all for any sane person owning any kind if firearm they want weather it be a bolt gun to a machine gun, I also believe there needs to be a responsibility to go with gun owner ship, the first gun I ever bought when I turned 18 was a AR 15 and I never took it to school or had a desire to go on a shooting spree with it and I killed my very first deer with it back in the late 70's, to me there is a huge responsibility in owning a gun and gun owners need to realize it and respect it
 
At last a voice of reason. I have been saying that for 2 decades. Public punishment. And spank them little brats so they learn no.

Sniper, you just said they should hang a human being in the street SO CHILDREN can be forced to watch. Then 2 people agreed, one called it the voice of reason!

This is not CONSERVATIVE thinking. This is not defending the 2nd amendment. This is not the ideals of the Republican Party I grew up in. This is RADICAL EXTREMISM!!!

Oh how I miss the days when I felt that the ideas of those who called themselves the “right” were actually RIGHT!!!
 
I am going to tell you all something that was said to me by a criminal that myself and another Officer had just arrested. He had just robbed a store in our town and me and the other officer caught him coming out of the store. After it was all over I ask him why he robbed the store he did instead of the one next door . He was a local and He as did everyone else in town knew the other store kept a lot more money on hand and did a lot more business than the place he just robbed. His answer was: THE OWNER OF THAT STORE PACKS HEAT AND SO DOES HIS EMPLOY'S. Moral of the story being that if they know they may get shot back at then they tend to want to go where its safe on their behalf. I wasn't at all surprised by his answer for when we got the call to the area we both were sure which store was getting robbed before we got the name of the store.
 
This is a horrendous piece of legislation. Law is all about precedent. So now we have a precedent that come October 1st an accessory that was lawfully purchased and sales tax paid will be a felony to posses. This is a slippery slope that will end in every firearm being illegal.

A worse law would be hard to conjure up.

My opinion is bump stocks are pointless and useless anyway. There is no purpose to owning one to begin with so it's not a big deal.

This is exactly what they want. This is the old nose of the camel defined. You also completely miss the precedent being set here. An item was purchased LEGALLY and with the stroke of a pen and the passing of a date it will become a felony to posses what was once legal.

They have band many other accessories for guns before and it didn't make all firearms illegal so I highly doubt it will be any different this time.

What prior accessories would that be? And what other times did something that was legal made illegal with no grandfather clause?


The only reason he signed this bill into law is for political purpose. He is going to run for the Senate when his term is up for governor.

That was his worst mistake. No way he becomes Senator Scott now. None. Done. Finished.
 
Mojo they been hanging folks in this country for dang near 200 yrs and they did it publicly and if you look at the pictures of public hangings there are all kinds of children in the crowd and crime was a lot less back then, I worked with a man years ago and he told me his grandfather took him to the last public hanging in Georgia and he said he never forgot it and because of it he never had the desire to break the law, these Malinials now a days are a total different breed from when I grew up and they need a shock of reality
 
We simply must add more term limits and add other blocks to becoming a career politician. It is a blight on our society to have people living off our tax dollars their entire career and then having their families living off of "in kind" benefits !
