Passtime

Dakota

Well-known member
Hey talked to Chris, who is with passtime, said his house faired well and just lost a couple of shingles. As far as passtime goes, he may have some severe damage to home and his business so you guys just keep him in your thoughts. They are not sure when they are going home. They will make that decision tomorrow sometime. I wish there was something I could do.

Passtime and the LA gang were outstanding on saturday. Have been praying for them and all others ever since. Wish the very best for them and their families. Please keep us advised as to anything we might be able to do.

Not to downplay the hurricane Katrina disaster any at all, but I spent the day with passtime and Chris on the river today (I'm on vacation). We put in a Loughman Lake Lodge and rode all the way to the Lone Cabbage at SR520.

Not much to worry about with those two. They know what their up against when they get home & how to get it fixed.

The ride ended at dark with an FWC inspection after the airboats were on the trailer. That went well also. Nothing but courtesy on both sides.

Here's a few pics:

Yeah, they are good. They are prepared and ready it is just me that feels horrible for them. There was no way of knowing that it was going to go there when they came here. Like I said, I just feel bad not only for them but for all of them.

they just picked up there trailer and are leaving as i'm writeing this to head back they said that they had a great time.

Those dudes were great!
We were lucky to have them attend the ride.

I spoke with Passtime about the appraoching storm on Sat. He was not worrying one bit.

You can tell that he's the kinda guy that'll deal with whatever life throws at him, and probably deal with it really well. Real positive attitude, and a real Southern Gentleman.

Glad we all got to meet him, and Chris as well.

I still fell bad not just for him, but all those hurting people over there.

I am honored and priviledged to have spent time not only with passtime but with his pal Chris. We went out to eat with them Friday night and then Saturday night we got to go out with them froggin. Sunday we went out for a ride and came home. Somehow I talked them into coming to my house and making dinner. And boy they did. It was great. I can say they are both great guys and I am glad I had the chance to get to know them. Every once in a while you meet people like them and I can tell you, I am definately keeping in contact with them. I had a wonderful time and learned alot of "Cajun cooking" and lots of other great stuff.

Hey ya'll,

How bout them Cajuns!

Never liked crawfish when I leved in La. but man was that cajun crawfish rice good on Saturday! (I had two helpings).

Best of luck to the two of you on the return trip to Louisiana. Hope to see ya soon Passtime!

Hey just talked to Chris a little while ago and he and Larry made it home. Chris said Larry was going to try and get to look at his home or business and is supposed to come back to Chris' house tonight. But no word on the damage. Chris said all he had was a few shingles and the only thing out at his house is the cable. He said the only way they got in was telling them they were using the airboat and the generators. But thought you guys would want to know.

Mood,
Sounds like a plan to me...A benefit ride next year, (sooner if possible). Proceeds to go to the local area hurricane victims. Just heard last night not much left of Slidell where i used to live for 4 years.

Charity, Good news of Passtime and Chris! Really good to hear! I don't think I would want cable TV if I were there, (pretty darn depressing watching from over heere).

Yeah I agree, I just stopped turning on the tv and watching it. All I can do is cry for those people. Then I think, it could have been Florida. So I stop what I am doing and pray. Not sure how good that is for them but that is all I can do for now.

our trip to melbourne was the most enjoyable trip in ages. i truly believe time spent w/ ya'll allowed me to relax and reflect on the chore to be done when we returned home.

we will overcome this setback in our lifestyle. we will rebuild and be stronger for our experince.

the sights i have seen in last few days have been depressing and makes me glad i could at least contribute my time and boat. it has also made me relize we are all on this earth for a short time as visitors and need to get along with each other. there are only a small % that are evil. they are the ones that need special attention.

our trip to melbourne is a prime example. we arrive as strangers to everone and left w/ many new friends and wonderful memories.

our thanks to all and we appreciate your hospitility and prayers. i truly believe airboaters enjoy a better life!

PASSTIME glad to hear you are ok. Those pralines were the first ones I ever ate that were home made Damn they were good. They will especially be in my memories because they are probably the last ones I will ever eat. I found out I have a little problem with sugar. I might make an exception and lick the container after everyone else eats them all though. You guys take care of you and yours and all the rest of this will pass. when order is restored there will still be plenty to do especially if you live there. Take care buddy
