This pic was taken back in the early 50's(this is what my aunt told me thats who I got the pic from) She said she think she has some more pics> If she find more I will post them.

Looks like an old flat head ford motor. I didn't know they had car motor boats back then.

people have been smart for a long time mr. dudley. not many people knew about them cause they were getting places a/c boats couldn't go. :lol:

That is a cool pic. Look at that boat, it's wood! Complete with plywood rudder.

He's sitting on the fuel tank and it has a steering wheel! The engine mount is triangulated for stength though.

I like these old pics. Wouldn't the coolest vacation be a trip back in time?
 
My dad told me that this was one of the first airboats the state owned. They paid for them and my grandpa build them at his house. He worked for the state as a wild life officer for a long time in the everglades.
