I got a 16x8 cotton mouth with a olds 455. The boat has Polly on the bottom that needs replace or take off.the engine starts right up but need some carb work. The boat could be run with alittle work and a new prop it has a 60x34 wood prop (i think that what he told me have not checked) He had a 80x34 wood prop on it and he said it would turn it at 2700 rpms. He had the 80" prop there but it was in bad shape, He want it to hang on the wall. I will post pics in a little while.

I miss that one! you should be way ahead with all the accessories trailer and a running rebuilt olds 455 with aluminum intake. ss headers seats fuel cell it all adds up big time. got a couple hulls if you need one. how rough was it?

It needs paint and new poly. It's a good start. Needs a new prop. I think you know more about the motor then I do. He said it draws 10" of water sitting. You think that possible. It's a big boat. Thanks again. I'll post some picture of tonight maybe?

The prop on the boat is 67" It has the pitch stamped on the back but I can't read it. If I take the polly off what has to be done to patch the hole. Will frog spit fill them in or do I need to glass over them?

what size used prop should I look for. It had a 80"x34 pitch on it. It would spin that prop at 2700rpms. Should I look for a 80x34 or should I look for some thing that will let it go up to 3000rpms? Thanks for the help

If that motor can swing 80in 2700 then it is stout  I'm not real good with wood props maybe some one else will chime in. that hull is from the 80's they are like tires they were out. it might be worth getting another hull unless it is in good shape. don't put good money after bad. some work you could make it happen with frog spit or poly. the boat is 8/16 so it probably floats like a cork. If it is in your budget you could run a gear box and one of those wood props for pretty cheap or carbon if you can afford it. my brother has a cumbie with fresh frog spit for cheap and my buddy has a 14/8 jimmy White fs for 2000 if that doesn't work out for you. i also know where a philips 13/71/2 is fresh poly never been in the water 1000.

Yeah he had a 80" prop he had it there but it was in bad shape. It looked like a tree.lol he want to keep it to hang on his wall. I have a few hull I could put the engine on. I have what I have been told is a jimmy white 12'7"x 7'8" it is really light its the one that I have under my mini build. Then I have a heavy panacraft in good shape with like new polly on it. Its 13'3"x7'3" wide at the back. I will let my friends know about the hulls you have for sale. Thanks for the help dan

Here is one of my hulls. Right now it has a mini engine on it. this hull is very light. It get on plane with 2 guy on it with a arctic cat 440cc spinning a 52" 4 blade warp drive prop. I might re build the rigging for the 455

i wuold stick with the freedom craft hull if i was you that heavy motor on that light hull will not float very well and would not be a beginners boat. if that motor is that strong than it will run good on that freedom craft you have and probably run dry if set up right with the right prop. i have a 74 in sensen ich q series for sale in good shape that would be a good prop for that set up.. but it sounds like youve got a good start.

my friends dad has been around air boats along time,He come over tomorrow to look at the hull the engine on now to see if its run able.I would like to put this engine on the panacraft but I got to get new rigging build for it.Thanks for the help

i run full ss rigging in that boat with passengers c/m and gearbox with no problem. will it flaot it and fly yes. is it a good beginer maybe not. but if you are already driving it you may be getting used to it, go front driver with it for wate and so you can run to the front if the motor shuts off. i have run this set up alot. i have run out of alcy at 60mph in deep water and it will not swamp. your other hull will be forgiving but not as much fun. you have to drive that boat it doesn't get boring.

well I put a new carb on it. had it running good. took it out to a lake by the house, but the wind was blowing about 25mph with white caps. being this is my first big boat i decide not to put it in. on the way back to the house it was raining hard. the carb was not covered at all and I think it got some water in the carb. Now the engine is running bad again and running rich and puffing black smoke. I have checked every thing I can think of and can't figure it out.
