Plug Wires

It seems to me there is little if any attempt to seperate plug wires, or keep them off other metal engine parts to prevent arching and a possible reduction of spark. It's been years since I've been "under the hood" - is this true for all engines these days (better plug wires?) - or common only to a/c engines? Or, should they really be seperated?

Thanks in advance!

A loom of some design is always a good idea. If the wires are in good condition it won't make much or any difference unless they are against the headers, but it just looks ratty. Nice and neat and isolated/separated is the best way.
