Polymer Colors

I have seen a few different colors of polymer and have heard some are more durable and some are more slick than others. Hoping for some feedback on anyones experience with different colors of polymer. Thanks in advance.

The industry Standard is UHMW Black Polymer but there are several other colors available. I know the white polymer was great stuff but it was not UV resistant and would crack out very fast. There are different compounds that can be added to polymer for better performance but the cost is very high unless you order very large amounts.

My old boat has yellow poly on it (good stuff!) I hope the white on my new boat does just as well

I like the yellow I always tell my buddy if he rides by and sees the yellow side up stop and help me flip it back right side up

they are making a white polymer that is uv resistant like the black or grey but i dont know if it is as slick as the original white. most of the black that you see on boats is actually dark grey.

ive always heard that white is stronger than black but not as click and black is less strong than white but slicker... and grey is like a happy median.... however ive seen yellow, green, purple and others and dont kno what to tell ya bout them... even tho i just told u all this info the other day when we went riding, but ill put it out hee for anyone else interested.... and are we still riding saturday night or what??

firemedic689, They have a good selection of sizes and colors, and you can pick it up at the factory if you are within driving distance. They are in Clearwater just above Tampa. Good prices too.

I have a sheet of black on the bottom and a small strip of gray on the front of my boat that has been on about 10 years. The black has no cracks at all and the gray has some slight cracking on the edges. I remember when I bought the black sheet they told me it was siliconized to make it extra slick. Prior to the black I had the old original white commonly used in the 80's and it cracked real bad. It was so brittle when it got a little age on it a chunk came loose on the bottom and almost flipped my boat.

i was told white is slicker then black because the gets hot faster when running dry,but the black last longer then the white, dont know if it is true or not but thats was told to me by a survey boat company

The polymer under my boat is orange...Omaha Orange seems to work OK, there's a couple 8" wide strips on the trailer that got sprayed with WD-40....makes un-loading waayy easier. 8)

On a tangent: the roller on the end of the trailer to lift the nose when loading was too low, so I took the roller off and put two hand-truck tires/wheels from Harbor Freight ($4.88 ea) works slicker than schitt!
