Polymer

Anybody Know the closest place I can find polymer? I am in Sarasota-
west central Fl. Also-- any thoughts on which type is best? Is the white or grey worth the extra money? Any tips on installing? My boat already has all the holes-polymer is off for fiberglass repair. It is a 14'6"x7'6" Combee with a 500 Caddy and 72x38 paddle prop. Just putting it together.
Thanks . Dan

White is the slickest by far, but the grey and black fight of UV better. Plan on changing the white every couple of years if it is exposed to the sun on a regular basis.

Take a look on page 4 of the Forum, Airboat Talk "Advice on Polymer and Airgator"

King plastics - Venice . If you are going to treat i t like four wheel drive -umhv black 3/8 or 1/2 is what i would use .If treat like a boat 1/4 will work !The white or grey i have never used !There is a place in riverview forgot where but will find out ! cheaper there .They did only white . But i have been told they do both now ,Not for sure but worth at try ...

you can buy it here if you want to drive there is 3 major boat builders within 20 miles. we use the dk grey i just bought some for $165.00 a sheet

KING PLASTIC in Venice makes it. I had a good discussion with them about it and they have solved the UV problem with the white. It is very slick the only drawback it only comes from them in either 4 or 5 X 10 sheets. The white doesnt get sticky as fsat as the black does. I left some laying out on a boat turned upside down for two years in the sun rain heat cold whatever and all it needed to be slick was a rub down with a rag and a hose, no cracks anywhere after two years finished installing it on the curved parts of the boat and no problems ata ll. just my experience.

I would like to talk to them, do you have a number. I have spoken with a couple of different chemist and they all had the same opinions. I would like to know how they solved the cracking problem.

The reason the white is the slickest out of the three is because it is the hardest. Actually very much harder than the black.

Shoot me that number ,Kevin

I spoke to the people at King Plastics. They currently can only make it up to 72 inches wide. They are expanding and will be able to do wider in about 6 months.

there is some new stuff called keel shield....it is suppose to protect the V of boat bottums when beaching it....wonder if they make it is large enough sheets for airboats

Farmer these guys look like they might have something. Like they said, it would be long process to install but should last a long time. Thanks

Farmer that looks like one heck of a kicker boat and theyre economy model is reasonably price for a turnkey 17' boat.I would like to see one of them up close and ride one.

What's the scoop on that new black polymer with a hard surface finish?
Could it be slicker than white?
Had 2 identical boats in the past and the white bottomed boat got going faster than the black but it didn't have as long a life.
Saw this new stuff on one of Mark's boats.

SS Sorry , Found the place in Gibsonton called -Westermans Inc , 813 -677- 1329 Sorry it took so long .they have the black 84- wide as long as you want, :oops:People say they are cheap dont know !!

We have double doors on our receiving room that have cushions on them made of sheets of some sort of black polymer stuff doubled over on themselves. The sheets have a polished side to them and it is very slick. I think about how great that would work every time I see them.

Wonder if that could be the stuff you're talking about.
