It seems that every time I go to Camp Mack, without fail I always see and unfortunately hear someone power loading their airboat onto their trailer. Now, you don't have to be a local to know that you aren't supposed to do it...there are several signs that say not too...including a big red one right at the ramp.
Now almost all of the kicker boats do it too but since the signs are primarily due to the NOISE we produce when we do this, why do so many of our ranks still break the rule??? It isn't that hard to trailer your rigs without power...in fact I've timed myself at this ramp and I'm not all that much slower than someone who powers on...and much less annoying ( at least to the ears
).
For those of you who do...are there legitimate reasons why???...for instance are you disabled in some way or is there some mechanical reason that I'm just not seeing??? Or is it just laziness?? Please by all means correct me. I am all for power loading when it's appropriate but when you are at a private ramp and there are signs up by the owners that clearly state you will be violating theiur rules, why do it??
I may be making an a$$ out of myself for asking this but it has been on my mind for quite a while. We talk of policing ourselves and yet even simple things like this go unspoken.
