Power Squadron to give boating course in Vero Beach

The Vero Beach Power Squadron is offering a two-day, safe boating course July 14 and July 15.
Classes will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day at the Power Squadron building, 301 Acacia Road in MacWilliam Park, just east of the Barber Bridge.
The course will teach basic seamanship, an understanding of navigational aids, boat and trailer handling, the art of tying knots and more. Those students who are 21 years old and younger and who successfully complete the course will have met Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission requirements to receive a state boater license.
Tuition is free, but there is a $30 fee for the course materials. A second family member will have only a $10 exam fee. Registration is required. Call Howard Daniels at (772) 978-9769 to enroll, or sign up on at http://www.verobeachps.org.
