Ok boat guys first I have found this boat on the airboat trader and cannot get a hold of this guy does any one know him 12x6 camo deckover with 85 hp 4 cyl. for 1500.00 863 area code.
Second is it enough power to push a single seat and removeable single for froggin running shallow water like stick marsh area and for just riding. I am looking for project boat FIRST BOATand it fits my wallet not looking for speed or hill runner. but a slower boat with a little push to it. want to build myself if possible.

If I buy what to look for and a few question it would be helpful dont want to throw 1500.00 away if I did I would have called D-brewster for a ride hahaha only seen the video and jokes. NICE BOAT BREWSTER...

what style prop ( fat push prop ) ? probably wood cause of $$$$$$
single or double rudders ?
frog spit or poly ?

A little boat like that will be fun for frogging and running the stick marsh open water. It should float like a cork. 7' wide boats are a bit more stable but 6' used to be kind of a standard herebouts at one time. 85 HP will certainly get you around if its rigged for a single seat. No problems there. Don'texpect that its going to haul ya around on dry land though. But for fishing and frogging its a nice combination.

Dual or single rudders will work fine. I gave my boy a 10' metal boat with a little 90 HP GPU & single rudder on it and he was the talk of the marsh. It had no electrical system, no starter and no lights, no alternator. He ran that thing til he got too big for it and was grown and had a kid coming. At that time responsibilities took over and he said it was time to let it go. Proud of him for that call.

You can have many many wonderful nights out on a small boat poking frawgs. Were it me, I'd go for a stick prop to get going. You can always add fiber later as finances dictate.

For water running you wont need poly. We used to run em with nothing on them, but frog spit or similar stuff will help save the bottom when dry loading.

Scotty

WHITEBEAR THANK YOU FOR THE RESPONSE NOW IF I CAN ONLY GET HOLD OF THE GUY AND START FINISHING THE BOAT. THE BOAT YOU DESCRIBED IS BASICALLY WHAT I WANT TO BUILD.. THANKS AGAIN

YOU TALK KIND OF RECKLESS FOR A TROUT FISHIN LEO WITH A BASS BOAT !
THE ONLY WAY SMART-A$$ "LEO'S " RIDE WITH ME IS ON THE FRONT OF MY GRASSRAKE !!!

ME AND A FEW OF MY CLOSE FRIENDS MAY HAVE A INSIDE JOKE GOING .. BUT THAT DONT MEAN IM GONNA LET ANYBODY ELSE DIS-RESPECT ME AND THAT GOES FOR ANYBODY THAT DONT KNOW ME OR MY BOAT AND WANTS TO FLAP THEIR GUMS..

well first off no disrespect to the big orange deckover.... D-Brewster thats a very nice boat and I know your friends were just messin with ya. Didn 't mean to strike a serious nerve but it was on the site and I watched it., yes, I want a sled and 4.3 with a gear box however , if it fits the bill and its a 4 cyl. a/c motor on a sled then so be it .Thats why I read all I can on this forum for knowledge of what works better.

However just because I work in law enforcement never doubt that I can't work cows all day on my day off then go run a couple hogs at night, crack the top and knock a bubble in a bottle of crown and call it a day. Really didn't mean no disrespect. Family has been in st lucie when moses was a baby. I am from old school folks that ranched and grew citrus.
