Project Boat Questions

I just bought a 1951 continental o-470-11a for 300 bucks. Its been sittin in my uncles garage for about 8 years so im goin through the whole motor. Could anyone point me in the right direction for gaskets, bearings, rings etc.

thanks. Just one more ques. the boat came with 14' gilileo hull and riggin. do u think this is enuf motor to push all that hull. I plan on runnin just two single seats in the front with no rear.

Thats plenty of motor. I believe the 470 is 240-260 hp range. Good motors though thats for sure.

if im not mistaken that motor is an e series motor they made four models. a 165, 185, 205, and 225. but if it is bobby hoffman can get you all the parts and tell you some serious tricks for those motors.

call superior airboat . He will have the right gaskets u need and any other parts. I have a 0470-13 same motor only my is a dry sump and your isn't. pm me with any questions.trust me u don't want to do the same thing I did . got one wrong gasket destroyed new rebuild and crank.

ftm77,300 bucks? you stole that freakin thing! Your off to a great start. JC is not far from you he is just west of 417 off hwy 50.He will have everything you need for that motor.If not he can get it.

yea i bought it off my uncle its my first boat but i know a little because my dads runnin an o-540 boat for years. Hes a mechanic and hes helpin me overhaul it. I appreciate all yalls help. If i can figure out how ill get some pics on here for ya!
