Prop choice

Trying to decide on a prop. I have a 12' palm beach hull with a 150 cont. 4 cylinder, 3/8 polymer. My stick prop is a 68 x 34 sensenich turning at 2850 RPM. If I were to change to either the whirlwind super snapper or the powershift cypress, would I still get the snap like I do now with the stick prop? And would I really notice a difference in push? I am looking for more push off the line, not speed. Any suggestions, besides getting a bigger motor :) , for a prop choice? And finally, I joined the club....sunk my grandpa's airboat this weekend...pictures are in my gallery.....Thanks, Brent

A friend of mine with a 150hp lycoming on a 10 ft, aluminum boat went from a 66x34 stick to a cypress series 66" and loves it. He claims the boat has better snap, run dry much easier, and planes out and criuse at a lower rpm. He is very happy with it and also claims it is quieter then the stick prop. Alos I have a friend that runs a 68" narrow sensenich on a 150hp 290 lycoming and that boat runs real well, drives around on the island very easily. I have no experience with whirlwind props, have never seen one on a boat down here, but you couldn't go wrong with the powershift or sensenich in my book.

Thanks for the reply Larry. I am pretty sure I will be getting a new prop soon so I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

I seen the pictures of the sunk boat. All I can say is, been there and done that. It happens to just about everyone sooner or later.

I have a 70" Sensenich composite ordered for my O-320 H2AD Lycoming (160hp). I should get it this week I think.

I ran a 72 Sensenich, as well as a 5 blade Warp Drive, on my 170 and I'll be honest it really didn't matter to me which one I was running. I will say though, that the Warp Drive felt a little different. It seemed like the initial push, from a dead stop on the hill, came a split second later with the Warp Drive.

All in all though, the boat seemed to perform equally well with either.
